This study identified the important role of the linc00936/miR-425-3p/ZC3H12A axis in regulating immune escape of GC cells. Up-regulating linc00936 or silencing miR-425-3p can inhibit immune escape of GC cells and enhance the cytotoxicity of CIK cells.
Objective: Gastric cancer (GC) is a malignant tumor originated from gastric mucosa. Without effective therapy, this study was to investigate the mechanism of long intergenic noncoding RNA 00936 (linc00936)/microRNA425-3p (miR-425-3p)/monocyte chemotactic protein-induced protein 1 (ZC3H12A) axis mediating immune escape of GC cells. Methods: Peripheral blood samples, GC tissues and adjacent tissues were collected. The levels of CD3+, CD4+, and CD8+ in peripheral blood were detected. The expression levels of linc00936, miR-425-3p and ZC3H12A in GC tissues and cells were detected. The correlation between the expression of linc00936 in the tissues and the levels of CD3+, CD4+ and CD8+ in the peripheral blood of GC patients was analyzed. Cytokine-induced killer (CIK) cells were induced, and co-incubated with GC cells. BGC-823 and MKN-45 cells were screened and transfected with linc00936- or miR-425-3p-related oligonucleotides to figure out their roles in immune escape, migration, apoptosis and the cytotoxicity of CIK cells in GC cells. Results: Elevated miR-425-3p and reduced linc00936, and ZC3H12A expression levels were found in GC tissues and cells. Linc00936 expression was positively correlated with CD3+ and CD4+, and negatively correlated with CD8+ in peripheral blood of patients with GC. Up-regulating linc00936 or down-regulating miR-425-3p inhibited immune escape, migration, promoted apoptosis of GC cells, as well induced CIK cell cytotoxicity to GC cells. Down-regulated linc00936 or elevated miR-425-3p facilitated immune escape, migration, depressed apoptosis of GC cells, and reduced the cytotoxicity of CIK cells to GC cells. Conclusion: The study concludes that up-regulated linc00936 or silenced miR-425-3p inhibits immune escape of GC cells via elevation of ZC3H12A.

An Environment-Friendly High-Performance Aqueous Mg-Na Hybrid-Ion Battery Using an Organic Polymer Anode

Shengnan Zhang, Chunlin Zhao, Kai Zhu, Jiaqi Zhao, Yinyi Gao, Ke Ye, Jun Yan, Guiling Wang, Dianxue Cao

Summary: Aqueous Mg ion batteries (AMIBs) have great potential for energy storage due to their high capacity, abundant resource, and environmental friendliness. However, the scarcity of suitable anode materials limits the development of AMIBs. In this study, a new polymer anode material with a flower-like nanosheet structure is synthesized for aqueous Mg-Na hybrid-ion battery. The polymer electrode material exhibits high discharge specific capacity and maintains its framework structure during the cycling process of the hybrid-ion battery.

Composition segregation and grain growth in (K0.5Na0.5)NbO3 piezoceramics prepared by two-step cold sintering process

Jiahao Jiang, Shuaimin Chen, Chunlin Zhao, Cong Lin, Xiao Wu, Min Gao, Tengfei Lin, Changqing Fang

Summary: This study employed two-step cold sintering process (CSP) under different pressures to prepare (K0.5Na0.5)NbO3 (KNN) ceramics, and found that the density of KNN green pellets can be increased by enhancing the pressure of the second-step CSP. Furthermore, it was observed that high pressure can accelerate the dissolution of K+ and result in more Na+ in some grains, and the diffusion rate of Na+ in grains is better than K+, which promotes the growth of grains. As a result, the piezoelectric property is improved even at low ceramic density due to the larger grains with higher performance composition. Hence, the pressure and inhomogeneous dissolution of alkali metal ions in CSP play a significant role in grain growth and piezoelectric enhancement.

Comparison of electric field-dependent property in BaTiO3-based piezoceramics between single and coexisting phases

Chunlin Zhao, Tao He, Cong Lin, Xiao Wu, Tengfei Lin, Min Gao, Hong Tao, Wenjuan Wu, Bo Wu

Summary: The electrical properties of single-phase BT ceramic and phase-coexistence BT-based (BTS-0.15BCT) ceramic were compared with respect to the evolution with an electric field. It was found that the dielectric, ferroelectric, piezoelectric, and strain properties are all dependent on the electric field, especially for BTS-0.15BCT ceramic with small domains and easy polarization rotation induced by phase coexistence. The phase-coexistence BT-based ceramic exhibits electric field-related properties due to its soft structure, while this effect cannot be observed in BT ceramic with stable phase structure and large domains.

Recyclable photoluminescent elastomer incorporating carboxyl-functionalized fluorescent powder via dynamic covalent cross-linking

Biao Xia, Cheng Shi, Zhou Li, Tengfei Lin, Min Gao, Chunlin Zhao, Xiao Wu, Cong Lin, Jinyun Wang

Summary: The rapid development of photochromic devices has led to great interest in the design and preparation of luminescent materials. Introducing fluorescent powder ZnS:Cu into a cross-linked polymer matrix is an efficient and simple method to obtain photochromic materials with excellent comprehensive performance. However, the traditional method of physically mixing fluorescent powder into the polymer matrix has limitations in terms of internal defects, mechanical properties, and luminescence efficiency. This study successfully modified fluorescent powder with 3-mercaptopropionic acid and introduced it into epoxy silicone rubber, resulting in a recyclable luminescent elastomer with improved mechanical properties and luminescence performance.
