Summary: After more than a decade of use, personalized embryo transfer guided by endometrial receptivity analysis (ERA) remains controversial and unproven. The accuracy and predictive value of the ERA test, which is essential for the potential benefits of personalized embryo transfer, have not been recognized in historical literature. Results from a recent clinical trial showed that personalized embryo transfer based on ERA actually reduced birth rates, as the ERA test failed to accurately identify the window of implantation. Therefore, we believe that all clinical use of ERA-guided personalized embryo transfer should be discontinued, except in controlled experimental settings with informed consent.
