The Knoevenagel condensation of acetylacetone and aromatic aldehyde catalyzed by lipase from porcine pancreas (PPL) and alpha-amylase from hog pancreas in ionic liquids and deep eutectic solvents for the first time achieved high yields up to 96.1%. The remarkable features observed in ionic liquids and deep eutectic solvents include mild reaction conditions, enhanced rates, improved yields, and reagents' reactivity different from that in standard organic solvents.
