Summary: Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the most common histological type of lung cancer, and brain metastasis (BM) is the most lethal complication of NSCLC. The study found that CCKAR is highly expressed in NSCLC tissues and is significantly associated with asynchronous BM. CCKAR is identified as an independent risk factor for asynchronous BM in NSCLC.

Summary: This study investigated the diagnostic and prognostic value of four plasma miRNAs in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), confirming that miR-210, miR-1290, miR-150, and miR-21-5p were highly expressed in NSCLC patients. The four-miRNA panel showed high accuracy in distinguishing NSCLC patients from healthy controls and those with benign lung disease, suggesting their potential as useful biomarkers for early diagnosis and prognosis of NSCLC.

Summary: This study reveals the role of FBXL7 in NSCLC and its upstream and downstream mechanisms. FBXL7 is downregulated in NSCLC and degrades PFKFB4, inhibiting glucose metabolism and malignant phenotypes. The EZH2/FBXL7/PFKFB4 axis plays a regulatory role in glucose metabolism and tumor growth of NSCLC.

Summary: This study investigated the distribution and clinical significance of circulating aneuploid cells (CACs) in resectable non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients. The pre-surgery small cell size CACs, especially the triploid subtype, could be regarded as a potential prognostic biomarker for patients with resectable NSCLC.

Summary: Tumours have the ability to avoid immune destruction and exhibit cancer-associated inflammation. The upregulation of interleukins IL-1 beta and IL-6 in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) tissues suggests that inflammatory processes play a role in NSCLC, with a strong influence of smoking history on inflammation in tumourigenesis.

Summary: This review summarizes the current evidence for the role of microRNAs (miRNAs) in the mechanism of chemoresistance in pancreatic cancer. Pancreatic cancer has a poor prognosis due to its late discovery, aggressive nature, and chemoresistance. Aberrant miRNAs have been found to induce chemoresistance in pancreatic cancer, but the exact molecular mechanisms are still unclear. Novel biomarkers and therapeutic strategies for chemoresistance are urgently needed to improve patient outcomes.

Summary: Metastasis is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in cancer patients, especially with small cell lung cancer (SCLC) known for its remarkable metastatic proclivity. Recent advances in research, such as using circulating tumor cells and genetically engineered mouse models, are helping to overcome limitations in studying SCLC metastasis. New insights into cellular mechanisms associated with increased metastatic ability offer promise for future therapeutic options.

Summary: Phosphoglycerate kinase (PGK) plays a crucial role in tumorigenesis, especially PGK1 which is associated with metastasis and negatively correlated with survival rate. The study found a significant increase of PGK1 in adenocarcinoma, and suggested a functional control of cancer metastasis by PGK1 binding to HTATSF1. Additionally, a nonenzymatic function of PGK1 was also demonstrated.

Summary: This study found that METTL3 is a marker for poor prognosis in small cell lung cancer (SCLC) and is highly expressed in chemoresistant SCLC cells. METTL3 promotes SCLC chemoresistance by positively regulating mitophagy. METTL3 induces m6A methylation of DCP2 and causes the degradation of DCP2, which promotes mitochondrial autophagy through the Pink1-Parkin pathway, leading to chemotherapy resistance. Additionally, a novel METTL3 inhibitor, STM2457, can reverse SCLC chemoresistance.

The development of automated semantic understanding is important for remote voice control and intelligent management and control. Sorting technologies are crucial in voice-interaction-enabled industrial central control systems. Deep learning methods have been popular for optimizing conventional retrieval-based question answering. This study proposes three deep semantic sorting models based on deep learning, which outperformed state-of-the-art text matching methods in candidate document sorting.

Summary: In this paper, a frequency reconfigurable multiband MIMO antenna is developed for 5G communication systems. The antenna element consists of a microstrip line, a divided monopole, and a ground plane. The antenna design includes a split-ring resonator (SRR) for multiple 5G application bands and an RF PIN diode for frequency diversity. The MIMO antenna is designed with improved inter-element isolation by orthogonally locating four antenna elements with connected ground planes. The prototype antenna, developed on an FR-4 substrate, matches the simulated outcomes and has an overall footprint of 70 x 70 x 1.6 mm(3).

Summary: A low-carbon low-alloy steel suitable for Q&P processing was designed by considering the influence of alloying elements on various aspects of transformation and microstructure. The designed steel showed improved strength and elongation due to a more effective exploitation of the TRIP effect. The TRIP behavior depended not only on the amount and carbon content of retained austenite, but also on the morphology of austenite and the characteristics of the surrounding phases.

Summary: This paper presents the design and analysis of a MIMO textile antenna for WBAN applications, which consists of four modified rhombus-shaped monopole antenna elements backed by a frequency selective surface (FSS). The antenna has an impedance bandwidth of 8.8 GHz and isolation of >19 dB. Bending analysis shows good flexibility of the antenna. With the FSS, the antenna gain is increased and the SAR is reduced significantly, making it suitable for smart textile applications.
