Summary: Approximately 10-25% of patients with locally advanced cervical cancer have metastases to the para-aortic lymph nodes. PET-CT and surgical staging are important for accurate treatment planning, as imaging techniques can have high false negative rates. However, the impact of para-aortic lymphadenectomy on patient outcomes is still controversial.

Summary: Locally advanced cervical cancer has high recurrence and metastasis rate, and low survival rate under standard treatment. Recent studies have shown that surgical staging is more accurate in determining lymph node metastasis and brings survival benefits to some patients. However, the indications for surgical staging and whether it can improve prognosis are still controversial.

Summary: This study revealed significant discordance between clinical and pathologic staging in resectable locally advanced gastric adenocarcinoma. Predictors of up-staging included younger age, male sex, poor tumor grade, positive margin status, and days from diagnosis to surgery. Patients who were up-staged had a lower survival rate compared to those who were accurately staged.

Summary: This study retrospectively analyzed the management of patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB) under the assistance of advanced practice providers (APP) compared to physician-only care. The results showed that treatment-eligible patients with CHB receiving APP care were more likely to receive antiviral therapy. APP care may help to expand the pool of providers for patients with CHB, and to improve current suboptimal treatment rates.
