Summary: This study investigated the psychosocial impact of COVID-19 on families of adult COVID-19 patients in isolation facilities in Metro Manila, Philippines. The results showed that anxiety and depression symptoms were present among family members 2 weeks after the discharge of their relative with COVID-19, but decreased after 8 weeks. In terms of family function, there was a small proportion of moderate dysfunction, but an increase in severe dysfunction. The lack of economic, medical, and educational resources were the most significant issues for the families. The study found that patient anxiety and perceived inadequate family resources were associated with anxiety symptoms among family members, and patient depression was related to depressive symptoms among family members. This study provides important insights for healthcare professionals caring for COVID-19 patients and their families.

Summary: The COVID-19 pandemic has caused psychological distress in the general population, and this study focused on the mental health of men and women in Israel during the first lockdown. Women reported higher levels of depression, anxiety, loneliness, and somatization compared to men, but this varied with age and could match the levels reported by men. Young women had more mental health problems, and men and women may have differential vulnerability to disaster-related stressors during the pandemic.

Summary: This paper investigates the influence of a constant carrier phase shift on the DC-link capacitor harmonic current in cascaded converters used in fuel-cell and mild-hybrid electric vehicles. The optimization of converter operation to limit current stress and extend the lifetime of the capacitor is proposed by using a carrier phase shift between the modulations of the two converters. Analytical results are presented and validated by hardware-in-the-loop experiments, showing significant influence of the pulse width modulation carrier phase shift on the DC-link capacitor current and its lifetime extension.

Summary: Synchronous reference frame (SRF) proportional-integral (PI) current controller (CC) is widely used for current regulation in ac machine drives and grid-connected voltage source converters. However, designing a high-performance current control loop in high-speed and high-power applications is challenging due to various factors such as controller gain's selection, nonlinearities, parameters variations, disturbances, digital implementation, and time delays. This article proposes a comparative analysis of different structures of SRF PI CCs, taking into account the design principles, gains' selection, computational burden, and pulsewidth modulation (PWM) delays. Moreover, the dynamics and stability of the system operating at high fundamental frequencies are thoroughly analyzed and evaluated.

Summary: This study experimentally measures and investigates the behavior of partial discharge inception voltage (PDIV), partial discharge extinction voltage (PDEV), and repetitive partial discharge inception voltage (RPDIV) as a function of exposure/poling time under unipolar repetitive square wave excitations at atmospheric pressure. The study focuses on two types of commercially available insulated wires, Glass fibre and Polyether Ether Ketone (PEEK), which are commonly used in inverter-fed motors. The study examines the impact of excitation polarity, pulse repetition frequency, and rise time on PD quantities and compares the trend of RPDIV and PDIV dispersion levels under positive and negative unipolar excitations with different rise times and pulse repetition frequencies using the Weibull distribution shape/slope parameter.
