Summary: This study presents a novel strategy for the treatment of metal ions in leaching solutions using hydrogel-like beads. Carboxymethyl cellulose-iron (CMC-Fe) hydrogel was synthesized to remove iron-cyanide complex ions from cyanide leaching solutions. The adsorbent, carboxymethyl cellulose-Prussian blue (CMC-PB) hydrogel, obtained after iron-cyanide complex ion adsorption, can directly remove Cs+ ions from solution. The hydrogel exhibits exceptional adsorption performance and high selectivity.

Summary: In this study, the electrosorption process of weak metal cyanide complexes using coal-based electrode was investigated. The results revealed that the adsorption kinetics followed a second-order model and the adsorption isotherms were in accordance with the Langmuir model. The mechanism involved the dipole force and exchange of coordination groups. The electrosorption process led to the formation of zinc oxide precipitates and the electrostatic adsorption of a small amount of copper ions. These findings provide valuable insights into the removal characteristics of weak metal cyanide complex ions and offer significant implications for the treatment of cyanide wastewater using electrosorption technology.

Summary: To develop a next-generation Pt drug with high activity and low toxicity, researchers optimized a Pt(II) thiosemicarbazone compound (C4) with remarkable cytotoxicity to SK N-MC cells and constructed a human serum albumin-C4 (HSA-C4) complex delivery system. In vivo experiments showed that both C4 and the HSA-C4 complex had excellent therapeutic efficiency and minimal toxicity, inducing apoptosis and inhibiting tumor angiogenesis. This system has the potential to become a practical Pt drug, paving the way for the development of next-generation dual-targeted Pt drugs for cancer targeting therapy.

Summary: Surface coating of silica nanoparticles (SiNPs) with polyethylene glycol (PEG) can control their biodistribution and in vivo interaction. SiNPs with higher coating density of PEG showed prolonged circulation time in the blood compared to SiNPs with lower coating density of PEG or amine surface coating. PEG surface coating plays an important role in controlling the biodistribution and immunogenicity of SiNPs-based drug delivery systems.

Summary: In this study, (Y2O3) x (CdO) 1-x mixed oxides nanocomposites with different Y2O3 loadings were synthesized via a precipitation approach. The NCs showed crystalline and cubic-phase purity, and their crystallite size ranged from 45 to 52 nm. By adding Y2O3, the optical band gap of the NCs decreased, and the surface area and pore volume increased, indicating increased porosity. UV-vis spectroscopy revealed that Y2O3 loading significantly improved the photocatalytic activities of the NCs, and the (Y2O3) 0.2 (CdO) 0.8 NCs showed the highest photodegradation efficiency for methylene blue under solar irradiation.
