Summary: In this study, horseradish peroxidase (HRP) was immobilized onto amine-functionalized superparamagnetic iron oxide for the oxidative degradation of acid black-HC dye. The anchored enzyme showed superior catalytic activity and thermal stability compared to free peroxidase. Various experimental parameters influencing removal efficiency were investigated, and the reaction followed second-order kinetics with determined thermodynamic activation parameters.

Summary: This study developed a zirconia-fucoidan (ZrF) material as a substrate for immobilizing laccase, which showed a high immobilization efficiency and improved enzymatic activity compared to free laccase. The ZrF-laccase system demonstrated effective degradation of tartrazine, achieving 95% decolorization in five cycles. The proposed methodology combining ZrF, fucoidan, and laccase provides a promising approach for the removal of emerging pollutants from the environment.

Summary: In this study, UCST-type temperature-responsive polymer was combined with horseradish peroxidase (HRP) to produce a smart polymerase with enhanced stability. The smart polymerase exhibited strong temperature stability, pH stability, and storage stability compared to free enzymes. It was capable of degrading 91% of phenol in a 100 mg/L phenol solution within 1 hour and removing a significant amount of phenol from real water samples.

Summary: Removal of phenolic compounds from water is a major concern, with horseradish peroxidase being a commonly studied biocatalyst for this purpose. Immobilization of HRP on tyramine-alginate microbeads showed promising results in terms of phenol removal efficiency and reusability. Internal generation of hydrogen peroxide using glucose and glucose oxidase enhanced the phenol removal process with immobilized HRP.
