Summary: This case report describes the successful rehabilitation of a patient who developed medical adhesive intolerance after undergoing total rhinectomy and subsequent prosthodontic rehabilitation. Despite the failure of one craniofacial implant, definitive restoration was achieved through the use of a titanium bar, double magnetic attachments, and a new silicone prosthesis.

Summary: The purpose of this study was to analyze the clinical outcomes and radiologic position of the knee in two groups of patients after medial unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA): one group with residual varus axis (RVA) alignment and other one with neutral mechanical axis (NMA) of the lower limb. The results showed that patients in the RVA group had better functional knee scores and better return to sport and recreational activities at 2-year post-surgery compared to the NMA group.

Summary: The study found that precise implantation was possible with the dynamic navigation system used, which can improve the quality of implant positioning, especially in minimally invasive procedures. The clinical trial demonstrated a clinical benefit and effectiveness of dynamic navigation in implant surgery.

Summary: The study compared free-hand implant planning and placement with computer-assisted implant planning and placement (CAIPP) in achieving the planned implant position. The results showed that CAIPP protocols resulted in smaller deviations regardless of tooth gap size, while in the free-hand group, gap size only influenced angular errors.

Summary: This report describes a novel technique using a temporary dental implant to secure radiographic fiducial markers and patient tags for dynamic implant placement in an edentulous mandible. By utilizing a small-diameter dental implant, the authors were able to successfully place four endosseous dental implants into the edentulous fibula free flap mandibular reconstruction, with minimal incision and reflection of soft tissue.

Summary: This clinical study assessed the accuracy of implant positions using a robotic system in partially edentulous patients. The deviations between planned and placed implants were calculated, and compared with objective performance goals from previous studies. The robotic system showed higher accuracy than static and dynamic computer-assisted implant surgery in partially edentulous patients.

Summary: This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to analyze the accuracy of implant placement using computer-assisted dynamic navigation procedures. The results showed that the clinical accuracy of dynamic navigation is comparable to static navigation, but there is great heterogeneity in dynamic navigation systems, indicating a need for further research to validate their feasibility.

Summary: The digital workflow is now a central concept in everyday dental practice, with various tools being used in diagnostics, planning, and therapy. This case report illustrates the digital workflow in planned immediate implant placement with immediate restoration using the one-abutment, one-time concept.

Summary: This study aimed to assess the accuracy of virtual planning of computer-guided surgery based on the actual outcomes of clinical dental implant placement. The results showed that computer-guided surgery with the flapless approach demonstrated greater accuracy in implant placement. However, further research is needed to enhance the availability of guides for cases with unfavorable residual bone conditions.

Summary: This study conducted a randomized controlled trial to compare the accuracy of immediate implant placement using freehand and static guided surgery. The results showed that static guided surgery demonstrated better accuracy in crestal and apical deviations, as well as angular deviations, compared to freehand surgery. However, there was no significant difference in depth deviation between the two groups.

Summary: As technology advances, the field of medicine, including dentistry, has been able to improve patient comfort and treatment outcomes. The development of implantology has allowed patients to achieve higher levels of comfort, even in complex cases. Radiographic advancements have provided precise tissue evaluation and the possibility of three-dimensional reproduction, aiding in communication between professionals and patients.

Summary: The study compared the accuracy of implant placement using a surgical motor or a torque wrench as part of a half-guided surgical protocol. While there was no significant difference in accuracy and mean insertion torque between the two groups, machine-driven implant placement was found to be significantly less time-consuming.
