This study focused on the design of wood-plastic composite (WPC) products. In this study, recycled high-density polyethylene plastic was used as the matrix, wood powder was used as the filler, different types of nanofillers and self-synthesized nanofiller treatment agents were added, and the twin-screw extrusion granulation method was used to prepare nano-WPC materials. The effects of different types of nanofillers on the mechanical properties of nano-WPC materials were investigated, and the cross-sectional structures of the materials were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy. The results showed that nanofiller treatment agents improved the interface compatibility of the materials. When the treatment agent content reached 2.5% and the nano-montmorillonite content reached 10%, the mechanical properties of the material reach their maximum values.

Summary: This study aimed to translate and cross-culturally adapt the Cough Severity Index into Brazilian Portuguese. The process included five stages of translation, synthesis, back translation, committee review, and pretesting. The questionnaire was reviewed by judges, and modifications were made based on their feedback. The final version of the translated questionnaire was developed and found to be suitable for use in the Brazilian Portuguese-speaking population.

Summary: This study verified the validity of internal consistency in the spectrographic analysis protocol (SAP). Participants evaluated and analyzed the relationship between items in the SAP. The results showed a good relationship between most items and the overall protocol. However, a few items had lower values, indicating a need for further training to properly understand these items.

Age and fibrosis index for the prediction of hepatocellular carcinoma risk in patients with high hepatitis B virus DNA but normal alanine aminotransferase

Gyeol Seong, Dong Hyun Sinn, Wonseok Kang, Geum-Youn Gwak, Moon Seok Choi, Joon Hyeok Lee, Kwang Cheol Koh, Seung Woon Paik, Yong-Han Paik

Summary: In chronic hepatitis B patients with high HBV DNA but normal ALT levels, age and FIB-4 index were identified as independent factors for stratifying the risk of developing HCC. The cumulative rates of HCC incidence were significantly higher in patients aged ≥40 years with FIB-4 index ≥1.45 compared to those aged <40 years with FIB-4 index <1.45. For patients with normal ALT levels, HCC incidence was also significantly higher in patients aged ≥40 years with FIB-4 index ≥1.45.
