Summary: KCNQ1OT1 is highly expressed while miR-125b-5p is lowly expressed in ovarian cancer (OC). KCNQ1OT1 promotes OC cell proliferation and metastasis by binding to miR-125b-5p. MiR-125b-5p targets CD147, and its expression is negatively correlated with that of miR-125b-5p in OC specimens. KCNQ1OT1 is positively correlated with CD147 in OC specimens, and it accelerates OC progression through the miR-125b-5p/CD147 axis.

Summary: This study found a significant positive correlation between CXCR7 expression and CAF activation markers in colonic tissues and transgenic mice. RNA sequencing revealed an increase in miR-146a-5p and miR-155-5p levels in CXCR7-overexpressing CRC cells and their exosomes. Furthermore, these CRC cell-derived miRNAs could be uptaken by CAFs via exosomes and promote their activation, leading to enhanced invasive capacity of CRC cells and pro-metastatic switch. The activation of CAFs by miR-146a-5p and miR-155-5p also facilitated tumor formation and lung metastasis of CRC in vivo. Therefore, these findings provide new insights into CXCR7-mediated CRC metastasis and suggest potential biomarkers and therapeutic targets for inhibiting CRC metastasis.

Summary: In this study, the role of SDCBP in pancreatic cancer was investigated. High expression of SDCBP was associated with poor prognosis and promoted tumor cell proliferation, migration, and invasion through the PI3K/AKT pathway. The regulatory mechanism of SDCBP and its interaction with miR-216b were also elucidated.

Summary: The study focused on investigating miRNAs in colorectal cancer patients, finding that elevated levels of miR-17-5p and miR-185-5p in plasma may predict treatment response, while overexpression of miR-125b-5p in plasma exosomes may be correlated with a more aggressive CRC phenotype.

Summary: The study demonstrates that LINC01963 is overexpressed in docetaxel-resistant prostate cancer cells and its silencing can enhance chemosensitivity, inhibit tumorigenicity and lung metastasis. LINC01963 exerts its effect by competitively binding to miR-216b-5p and reducing TrkB protein levels. These findings suggest that LINC01963 could be a potential therapeutic target for prostate cancer patients with docetaxel resistance.

Summary: This study found that DOX induces myocardial injury by promoting ferroptosis. DOX treatment upregulates METTL14, increasing the sponge KCNQ1OT1 for miR-7-5p and inhibiting its activity. The lack of miR-7-5p expression leads to increased iron uptake and lipid reactive oxygen species production, demonstrating DOX-induced ferroptosis in AC16 cells.
