Summary: The incidence of T2DM among women of reproductive age is increasing, and it poses similar risks for pregnancy complications as type 1 diabetes in pregnant women. To minimize adverse outcomes during pregnancy and for the newborn, a comprehensive approach is recommended. This review provides the latest evidence on preconception care, management of diabetes-related complications, lifestyle counseling, recommendations for gestational weight gain, pharmacologic treatment, and early postpartum management of T2DM.

Summary: This study aimed to estimate the relative risk of postpartum dysglycaemia in women with gestational diabetes mellitus using mutually exclusive categories, and establish a risk-stratification method. The results revealed that mutually exclusive categories could be used to categorize patients into low-risk, intermediate-risk, and high-risk groups, aiding in early management.

Summary: This study found that anxiety in GDM patients is common, and is positively correlated with vulnerable personality while negatively correlated with self-efficacy and social support. Factors such as education level, monthly income, abnormal pregnancy, cesarean section history, and first pregnancy are independent influencing factors for anxiety in GDM patients. Early care and interventions are crucial for these high-risk patients.

Summary: The study found that maternal hyperglycemia before delivery only increased the risk of neonatal hypoglycemia in GDM patients on medication, while this association was not seen in diet-controlled GDM patients and different types of pregestational diabetes patients. Other interventions are needed to reduce neonatal hypoglycemia.

Summary: Factors associated with prenatal, perinatal, and postnatal outcomes for fetuses and infants with trisomy 13 (T13) and trisomy 18 (T18) were identified in a retrospective cohort study. Male fetal sex and hydrops were related to spontaneous loss, and survival varied significantly. Medical care use also showed high variability.
