Summary: This study investigates the prevalence of hypertension in Mayotte, as well as the awareness, treatment, and control of the disease. The results reveal a high prevalence of hypertension, with inadequate levels of awareness, treatment, and control. This highlights the need for measures such as primary prevention, access to healthy food, and screening and treatment to address the issue.

Summary: This study found a positive association between hypertension and DNA methylation-based biological age metrics in older individuals. Women with higher biological age were more likely to have prevalent hypertension at baseline and to be diagnosed with incident hypertension during follow-up. These findings suggest that epigenetic markers may be helpful in early diagnosis and treatment of hypertension.

Summary: This study conducted a population-based multicenter research to accurately determine the prevalence of hypertension in adolescents in China. It found that the prevalence of hypertension was quite high and identified risk factors such as age, parental hypertension history, heart rate, and obesity indexes. Single blood pressure measurement visits may lead to an overestimation of hypertension prevalence among adolescents.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the association between a family history of hypertension and blood pressure as well as hypertension. The retrospective examination of a 50-year-old Finnish cohort revealed that the group with a positive family history had higher blood pressure and a faster annual increase in blood pressure compared to the negative family history group. Positive family history was also associated with a higher risk of diagnosed hypertension by the age of 50. However, there was no association between family history and body mass index.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the risks of adverse effects in chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients after initiating atrial fibrillation (AF) therapies. The results showed a significant association between lower estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) and higher risks of adverse effects after initiation of commonly used AF therapies. These findings can help guide therapeutic decisions for patients with CKD and AF.

Summary: This study compared the incidence of immune-mediated diseases, herpes zoster, and anaphylaxis between recipients of HepB-CpG and HepB-alum vaccines. The results showed that there were similar rates of most immune-mediated diseases and herpes zoster between the two groups, except for a slightly higher rate of rheumatoid arthritis. The incidence of anaphylaxis was very low. Therefore, HepB-CpG vaccine does not have significant safety concerns compared to HepB-alum vaccine.
