Summary: The circular economy has potential synergies with climate change mitigation, but quantitative evidence for these synergies in the consumer product sector has not yet been systematically evaluated. This study conducted a systematic review of existing studies on the lifecycle impacts of consumer-oriented product-service systems (PSS) and found that adopting circular economy strategies can reduce greenhouse gas emissions, but comes with risks. Certain strategies such as upgrading, repair, refurbishing, and pooling have moderate to high improvement potentials with lower risks of backfiring, while strategies like servitisation, sharing, and reuse have higher backfire risks, but also high improvement potentials. The risk of backfiring is influenced by factors such as transport, number of uses, product substitution and lifetime, maintenance, energy source, and energy efficiency.

Summary: Product co-design is widely used in the service-oriented manufacturing system to improve service quality. This study examines how product co-design affects the performance of the system under different business models. The findings show that the firm always benefits from implementing product co-design, while consumers may not always benefit, especially when the participation cost is high. The study also discusses the firm's business model selection strategy and introduces a threshold-based policy to assist in decision-making.

Summary: This study found that consumers have higher expectations of process benefits for result-oriented PSSs and outcome benefits for product-oriented PSSs. Purchase intentions are mainly influenced by expected benefits and consumer innovativeness. Consumers with higher innovativeness mitigate the effects of outcome benefits expectations on purchase intentions.

Summary: This study empirically tested a theoretical model by defining senior customers' intentions to use robot service restaurants in South Korea. The results showed that senior customers' perceived values positively influenced attitude, which were enhanced by hedonically and socially motivated consumer innovativeness. Additionally, the influence of hedonic MCI on perceived value was found to be greater in low-income senior customer groups.

Summary: This article proposes alternative footwear consumption scenarios from a sustainability perspective and investigates the perspective of Indian consumers toward these scenarios. The research finds that the proposed scenarios are interesting and practical, but may be more feasible for expensive footwear products due to logistics costs. Additionally, there are cultural and hygiene-related issues that may hinder the adoption of certain alternative footwear consumption scenarios by Indian consumers.

Summary: The study proposes a set of theory-grounded, data-driven measures to quantify product types, sources of uncertainty, and the impact of consumer reviews. The new measures provide a continuous ranking of search vs. experience and horizontal vs. vertical differentiation, and are easier to implement while relying solely on consumer ratings information. Empirical applications on Amazon.com data demonstrate the importance of fit in driving product utility and the limitations of the current review system in resolving fit uncertainty.

Summary: This study is one of the first empirical studies to examine the trust and consumer acceptance of food products that incorporate social and environmental costs in their pricing. The findings show that consumers who perceive higher social status and environmental value in true food pricing tend to have greater trust in these pricing characteristics and organizations implementing them, leading to a higher intention to purchase true price food products. Promotional appeals to social status and the environmental impact of true pricing have the potential to increase consumer trust and purchase behavior.
