Summary: Molecular biomarker TRAM2 is overexpressed in glioma and associated with malignancy properties and poorer survival. Silencing of TRAM2 inhibits glioma cell proliferation, invasion, migration, and EMT. TRAM2 is positively associated with the activation of the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway.

Summary: This study demonstrates that IL-13 and its receptor IL-13R alpha 2 are highly expressed in oral submucous fibrosis. IL-13 promotes the proliferation, migration, and secretion of fiber-related proteins in fibroblasts through the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway targeting IL-13R alpha 2.

Summary: This study investigates the role of LHPP in gastric cancer (GC) and finds that LHPP acts as a tumor suppressor gene by inhibiting proliferation, migration, invasion, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) of GC cells. The underlying mechanism involves regulating the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway.

Summary: The study reveals that TPI1 is highly expressed in breast cancer and is associated with clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis. TPI1 promotes breast cancer progression by regulating the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway, with CDCA5 and P62 being important mediators.

Summary: This study found that Carnitine palmitoyltransferase 1A (CPT1A) was upregulated in preeclamptic placentas and its abnormal expression in HTR8/SVneo cells was associated with cell invasion and migration, but not proliferation, cell cycle, and apoptosis. The results also revealed that CPT1A inhibits the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) process of HTR8/SVneo cells through the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway, thus participating in the pathogenesis of preeclampsia.

Summary: Hypericum roeperianum, a traditional medicinal spice, has been found to possess anticancer properties. It inhibits breast cancer progression by regulating mitochondrial apoptosis and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). The crude extract induces apoptosis and inhibits cell migration by affecting multiple molecular markers. Additionally, it modulates the PI3K/Akt/mToR signaling pathway to suppress EMT. The in vitro and in vivo experiments support the potential use of Hypericum roeperianum in breast cancer therapy.

Summary: This study found that APOC2 is overexpressed in GC PM tissues and correlates with poor prognosis in GC patients. APOC2 promotes invasion, migration, and proliferation of GC cells through CD36-mediated PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway.

Summary: Increasing evidence has shown that ALDH1A3 is closely associated with tumorigenesis, therapy resistance, and prognosis in various cancers. This study demonstrates that ALDH1A3 is highly expressed in GBM cells and plays a critical role in their proliferation and radioresistance. The study also identifies miR-4524b-5p as an upstream regulator of ALDH1A3 and shows that overexpression of miR-4524b-5p reduces proliferation and radioresistance in GBM cells. Targeting the miR-4524b-5p and ALDH1A3 axis could be a promising therapeutic strategy for treating GBM.
