Summary: Using en face optical coherence tomography for epiretinal membrane (ERM) detection after vitrectomy for rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) showed a significantly higher detection rate compared to B-scan imaging. ERM formation in the majority of eyes did not significantly affect postoperative visual acuity, with most cases classified as stage 1 and a majority showing parafoveal retinal folds. Multiple retinal breaks and larger retinal break sizes were associated with increased risk of ERM formation.

Summary: The study observed retinal sensitivity and microvasculature changes in preoperative and postoperative idiopathic macular epiretinal membrane (iERM) using microperimetry (MP) and optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA). Higher grade iERM eyes exhibited worse retinal sensitivity and significant microvasculature changes. Postoperatively, there were no significant differences in retinal sensitivity and fixation stability compared to preoperation for both grade 1 and 2 iERM eyes.

Summary: This study aims to describe the clinical features of epivascular glia (EVG) using en face optical coherence tomography (OCT). The findings show that EVG is associated with older age, advanced posterior vitreous detachment (PVD), pseudophakia, and contractile epiretinal membrane (ERM). These lesions can be identified using en face OCT and support the role of Miller cell activation through ILM breaks triggered by PVD.

Summary: This study evaluated the histopathologic features of preretinal tissues removed from eyes with myopic traction maculopathy (MTM). The findings suggest that the etiologic mechanism of MTM may be anteroposterior traction caused by axial elongation, rather than a uniquely abnormal cellular process. The preretinal tissues from eyes with MTM were histopathologically indistinguishable from idiopathic epiretinal membranes.
