Summary: This study investigated the effects of levonorgestrel (LNG) and increased temperatures on the clam's biochemical and physiological responses. The results showed that treatment with LNG enhanced the clam's antioxidant defense, but higher temperatures diminished most of the specific responses to LNG. Lysosomal membrane stability, alkaline phosphatase, and NADP(+)-dependent isocitrate dehydrogenase were the most common signs of adverse effects in all exposures. The study suggests that chronic warming stress disrupts the physiological and biochemical parameters of female clams, which may have implications for the entire organism and populations.

Summary: Jasmonates play a crucial role in improving plant growth and physiology under stress conditions. The application of methyl jasmonate (MeJ) under drought stress, along with the presence of mycorrhizal symbiosis, can enhance plant growth and fortify antioxidant defense. However, caution should be exercised as MeJ may cause damage to chlorophyll under non-stress conditions. The combination of MeJ and mycorrhizal symbiosis shows potential in reducing MeJ-induced damage and promoting plant growth under both stress and non-stress conditions.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the impact of caffeine on marine mussels in combination with microplastics. The results showed that the combination of microplastics and caffeine had effects on the physiological indicators of mussels, while caffeine alone did not have a significant impact on oxidative stress indicators.

Summary: Humans and wildlife are exposed to a variety of compounds, including plasticizers, which can disrupt endocrine and immune function. The presence of plastic debris in the environment is a growing concern. Studies have shown that plasticizers can cause mitochondrial dysfunction and immunosuppression, highlighting the need for further research on their impact on immune responses.

Summary: The response mechanism of Phalaris arundinacea to waterlogging mainly involves differential gene expression and regulation of metabolic processes. A series of genes involved in carbohydrate metabolism, hormone signaling regulation, etc. were identified. The research findings lay a foundation for further exploring waterlogging resistance genes in Phalaris arundinacea and breeding new strains resistant to waterlogging stress.

Summary: The study evaluated the effects of carnosic acid, an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compound found in rosemary plants, on dairy cows during the transition period. Results showed that carnosic acid promoted positive responses on inflammation and oxidative stress biomarkers in dairy cows and may have beneficial effects on lactation performance.

Summary: This study conducted an acute temperature stress experiment on Gymnocypris chilianensis in the Qilian Mountains, China, and identified key metabolic pathways involved in maintaining physiological balance under thermal stress, such as glucose metabolism, lipid metabolism, and amino acid metabolism. The research provides valuable insights into the mechanisms underlying responses to heat stress in G. chilianensis, and may serve as reference data for studying environmental mutations in indigenous fish in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and Qilian Mountains.

Summary: Drought stress has significant negative effects on the growth and yield of olive trees. Selecting drought-resistant olive cultivars is an effective strategy to mitigate the impact of drought. This study found that Dezful and Konservolia cultivars exhibited the best adaptive mechanisms to cope with drought stress.

Summary: This study used virtual reality to examine the effects of green space exposure on stress recovery among pregnant women. The results showed that visual exposure to green space in VR was associated with both physiological and affective stress reduction, including lower blood pressure, decreased salivary alpha-amylase concentration, improved positive affect, and decreased anxiety. Exposure to a high green space environment in a park-like setting had the strongest impacts on stress recovery.
