The eco-friendly synthetic approach for preparing CeO2-NPs using C. procera flower extract. The synthesized CeO2-NPs were studied for their UV-Vis, XRD and HR-TEM. The X-ray diffraction studies confirmed the cubic structure of synthesized CeO2-NPs with an average crystallite size of 7 nm. High Resolution Transmission Electron Microscope (HR-TEM) images showed that the CeO2-NPs possessed spherical shape and particle size of 21 nm. The photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange (MO) dye under sunlight irradiation by biosynthesized CeO2-NPs was analyzed. The synthesized CeO2-NPs exhibited 98% degradation activity against MO dye. Furthermore, antibacterial activity of C. procera flower extract and biosynthesized CeO2-NPs were studied. The biosynthesized CeO2-NPs exhibits a important antibacterial activity against Gram negative bacteria Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa than Gram positive bacteria.
