Summary: This study investigated the safety and efficacy of the interventional technique for removing self-expanding metallic esophageal stents (SEMESs) under fluoroscopy. The results showed that the technique is safe and effective, and the incidence of complications is influenced by the duration of stent implantation and the type of esophageal disease.

Summary: This study retrospectively analyzed 152 patients who underwent fluoroscopy-guided tracheal stent removal, showing that this method is safe and effective for both tracheal fistula and tracheal stenosis, with no significant difference in outcomes between the two groups. Attention should be paid to the risk of complications in patients with malignant tumors, and a combination with endoscopic hemostasis may help improve safety.

Summary: This study retrospectively analyzed the risk factors for recurrence of arterial complications after pancreatectomy during the period of covered stent implantation and made recommendations for peri-stent implantation management. The results showed that pancreatic fistula was a significant risk factor for recurrence. Covered stent implantation was a feasible and effective treatment option, but rigorous management and appropriate treatment strategies were necessary.

Summary: A retrospective study on 15 postoperative BPF patients undergoing endoscopic intervention found that stent implantation with polidocanol application was the most common procedure, but the success rate of complete fistula closure remained low. Survival rates were significantly related to procedural success.

Summary: The study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of hybrid silicon Y stents and covered self-expanding metal stents in restoring airway patency in patients with inoperable malignant airway stenosis and fistulas. The results showed immediate relief of symptoms in a majority of patients after stent placement, significant improvements in dyspnea scores, performance scores, and performance status, with a majority of patients still alive at 6 months without major complications.

Summary: This study aimed to compare the short and long-term outcomes between conservative and interventional therapy in postoperative bronchopleural fistula (BPF), and summarize our own strategy and experience. The results showed significant differences in the 28-day and 90-day survival rates between the two treatment approaches, with conservative therapy independently associated with 90-day mortality in postoperative BPF. Therefore, surgical and bronchoscopic interventions are recommended for better short and long-term outcomes in postoperative BPF.

Summary: In this study, anchoring force (ACF) of various LAMS and CSEMS was measured and compared using a new phantom model. The AXIOS had the highest ACF among the LAMS, while the Spring Stopper had the highest ACF among the CSEMS. Some ACF values varied with the direction of pull. These findings may influence stent selection for interventional endoscopic ultrasonography, and the model can be utilized for evaluating newly developed stents.

Summary: This study investigated the occlusive properties of newly developed transrenal ureteral occlusion self-expanding metallic stents (SEMSs). The results showed that M- and D-type occlusion SEMSs had similar occlusive properties in the 3D phantom model, but in the ex vivo porcine urinary tract model, the M-type SEMS performed better in terms of occlusive properties compared to the D-type SEMS.
