Summary: SRY-box transcription factor 18 (SOX18) is expressed in dermal papilla cells (DPCs) of sheep hair follicles and plays a crucial role in promoting DPC proliferation through activating the Wnt/β-Catenin signaling pathway. Inhibition of the Wnt/β-Catenin signaling pathway can be rescued by SOX18, suggesting the essential role of SOX18 in governing DPC proliferation and hair growth.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the effects of scaffold matrix attachment region binding protein 1 (SMAR1) on the development of bladder cancer (BCa). The results showed that down-regulation of SMAR1 was associated with worse prognoses in BCa patients. SMAR1 was found to inhibit the viability, proliferation, migration, invasion, and Warburg effect of BCa cells. It is suggested that SMAR1 may suppress the Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway to inhibit the progression of BCa.

Summary: Colorectal cancer is a heterogeneous disease with genetic and epigenetic changes, and molecular assessment along with biomarker use for prognosis is gaining attention. This study identifies high mRNA levels of 10 upregulated genes in CRC cells and datasets, showing correlation with worse prognosis in CRC patients. CTNNB1 is found to be a key factor in the interaction with upregulated CRC-associated genes, particularly regulating NKD2, FOXQ1, and CEMIP, which when inhibited, can suppress CRC cell growth, providing efficient biomarkers for prognosis and a new molecular interaction network for CRC.

Summary: p-Coumaric acid (p-CA) is a plant compound with anti-cancer activities. This study designed a nano-liposomal carrier containing p-CA to enhance its effectiveness against melanoma cells. Summary: This study found that low expression of TP53INP2 is associated with poor survival in colorectal cancer (CRC) patients. As the malignancy of CRC progresses, TP53INP2 expression gradually decreases. Knockdown of TP53INP2 promotes CRC cell proliferation and tumor growth. Mechanistically, TP53INP2 deficiency decreases phosphorylation of beta-catenin, leading to increased accumulation and enhanced nuclear translocation and transcriptional activity. Additionally, TP53INP2 sequesters TIM50, inhibiting its activation of beta-catenin. In conclusion, downregulation of TP53INP2 promotes CRC progression by activating beta-catenin.

The results showed that indium curcumin and vanadyl curcumin exhibited higher binding affinities and stronger inhibitory effects on amyloid fibrillation compared to gallium curcumin.
