Summary: Energy poverty is a complex issue involving household income, energy costs, and housing energy efficiency. Despite growing interest in addressing energy poverty, there are still challenges in defining and measuring it. Italy has adopted a new official measure showing over 2.2 million energy-poor households in 2016.

Summary: Molecular complexity lacks a unified definition but is of significance in synthetic organic chemistry and pharmaceutical research. The spacial score (SPS) and normalized version (nSPS) are introduced as new metrics to measure molecular complexity, but they do not capture drug innovation or correlate with key drug properties. Despite addressing the need for a precise empirical tool, a universal definition of molecular complexity remains elusive.

Summary: The kynurenine pathway plays important roles in tumor development by protecting organs from immune reactions and providing essential metabolites to cells. Abnormal activation of this pathway promotes tumor growth, metastasis, and chemoresistance. The complex regulation of this pathway poses challenges for clinical interventions.

Summary: During the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a surge in the application of emerging technologies in education. Extended reality (XR) and artificial intelligence (AI) have been instrumental in enhancing learner-centered teaching methods in online higher education settings. This systematic literature review documents the use of XR and AI in such settings and sheds light on their impact post-pandemic. The findings highlight the growing interest in these technologies and their potential to make online education more accessible, effective, engaging, collaborative, self-paced, and adaptable to diverse academic paths.

Summary: The study found that most young adult Filipinos assessed the relative harm of cigarettes based on the color of the packaging. They believed that menthol cigarettes with primarily blue packaging were less harmful than those with primarily green packaging. Many participants considered flavour capsule cigarettes the most attractive, possibly due to the color of the packaging and expectations regarding taste.

Summary: The review highlights the diverse manifestations of migraine aura, not limited to visual symptoms, including sensory, speech and/or language, motor, brainstem, and retinal types. Some migraine auras may go unnoticed, unreported, or misdiagnosed, emphasizing the importance for clinicians to take a comprehensive approach when examining individuals with potential migraine with aura diagnosis.

Summary: There is still uncertainty surrounding the duration of immunity against SARS-CoV-2, both from vaccines and natural infection, but evidence suggests that reinfection rates are low for those who have already had the virus. Studies indicate that infection with SARS-CoV-2 can generate a robust and persistent immunity, similar to other respiratory viruses, which are known for causing exceptional reinfections. Recommendations propose providing immunological passports for those who have recovered from the infection, rather than prioritizing them for vaccination, in order to safely resume normal activities.

Summary: Efferocytosis is the process of phagocytes removing dead or dying cells, which is considered anti-inflammatory. However, it can induce inflammatory signaling pathways under certain conditions. The mechanisms and molecules involved in this response are not well understood. This article discusses the influence of dead cell cargo, ingestion type, and digestion efficiency on phagocyte programming in disease contexts, presents recent findings, identifies knowledge gaps, and proposes experimental approaches to fill them.

Summary: Previous studies have shown that online search can measure investor attention and predict stock returns. In this study, we compared search conducted on weekdays and weekends to investigate the heterogeneity in retail investor attention and the price pressure and information processing channels for stock return predictability. We found empirical evidence supporting the information processing channel, where weekend search predicts large-cap stock returns, while weekday search leads to subsequent retail order imbalance, contradicting the price pressure channel. Our study contributes to the literature by focusing on the predictive power of online search on stock returns.

Summary: The immune memory repertoire stores the history of infections and immunological attributes of an individual. Various methods are proposed to use T-cell receptor (TCR) repertoires to detect disease history. The counting method outperforms two leading algorithms, and can be further improved with a novel attention model based on TCR projection using a Variational AutoEncoder (VAE). Both counting and attention algorithms predict CMV infection and HLA alleles better than current leading algorithms. A new Graph Convolutional Network approach is proposed as an intermediate solution between the complex attention model and the simple counting model, combining accuracy and simplicity. The code for the models used in the paper can be found at: https://github.com/louzounlab/CountingIsAlmostAllYouNeed.

Summary: This article evaluates the meaning, appropriate usage, and misusage of the terms oxidative stress, oxidative eustress, and oxidative distress. It reveals that oxidative stress and oxidative damage are often incorrectly used as synonyms. The term eustress, intended to signify good stress, is also found unsuitable for indicating signaling by reactive molecules that can have variable effects. The defined oxidative distress is identified as oxidative damage rather than oxidative stress. Additionally, damaging oxidations and signaling oxidant events, both positive and negative, can coexist in different locations within a cell, tissue, or body. The measurement of oxidant events in body fluids or tissue samples can only reflect the combined effects of non-separable events, sometimes with opposite effects. Officially approved therapies to prevent or cure oxidative stress or oxidative damage are currently lacking.
