Summary: Comparative analysis of radical trachelectomy and radical hysterectomy in early-stage cervical cancer patients showed differences in operative time, blood loss, and post-operative hospital stay, but no significant differences in intra-operative and post-operative complications, recurrence risk, and survival rates between the two groups. Future studies with randomized designs and larger sample sizes are needed to confirm these findings.

Summary: This systematic review evaluated the oncologic and reproductive outcomes after FSS for early-stage cervical cancer, suggesting that FSS with VRT, ART, or MIS-RT have comparable oncologic results in carefully selected patients, with reproductive outcomes favoring VRT. Data on nonradical FSS with cone or ST are limited but support similar oncologic outcomes to radical trachelectomy with fewer reproductive complications. More research is needed on NACT before routine implementation.

Summary: This study focused on the significant heterogeneity in the clinical management of FST for ECC >= 2 cm. Surgery-based FST showed varying recurrence rates among different methods, while FST based on neoadjuvant chemotherapy had different complete response rates and recurrence rates.

Summary: A systematic review was conducted to examine the outcomes of simple hysterectomy for women with low-risk, early-stage cervical cancer. The use of less radical surgery for stage IA2 and small volume IB1 cervical cancers seems favorable, although there is concern about the impact of simple hysterectomy on survival in women with stage IB1 tumors. The available studies had moderate quality, which limited the conclusions drawn from the data.

Summary: This meta-analysis compares the fertility results, cancer outcomes, and surgery-related outcomes between open and minimally invasive surgery. The results show that the open surgery group has a higher rate of pregnancies-Third trimester delivery, while the minimally invasive surgery group has better surgery-related outcomes. However, due to the limited number of studies, further research is needed to validate these findings.

Summary: The study found that laparoscopic radical trachelectomy with a no-look no-touch technique can significantly improve the survival and obstetrical outcomes of women with early-stage cervical cancer. The surgical outcomes were acceptable, with a 5-year disease-free survival rate of 95%.

Summary: This review aims to evaluate the outcomes of different surgical treatments in preserving fertility in patients with cervical cancer by analyzing oncological issues. The results show that the oncological outcomes are similar among different surgical methods in patients with stage IB1 disease. However, in patients with stage IB2 disease, open surgery has the lowest recurrence rate. Nevertheless, open surgery has the lowest pregnancy rate.

Summary: This study compared the outcomes of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) followed by radical trachelectomy (RT) with those of upfront abdominal RT (ART) in patients with stage IB2 cervical cancer. The results showed that both NACT followed by RT and upfront ART preserved fertility in patients, with a lower incidence of complications in the NACT group. Patients with tumor reduction <50% after NACT had a higher recurrence rate, while those with tumor reduction >50% were ideal candidates for RT after NACT.

Summary: This study retrospectively analyzed the long-term outcomes of fertility sparing robot-assisted radical trachelectomy (RRT) and found that the recurrence rate was comparable to other similar surgeries, while the pregnancy rate was high and the risk of premature delivery was low, which may promote the use of robot-assisted approach.

Summary: This article reviews the advances in the surgical management of early-stage cervical cancer, including the update of the FIGO 2018 staging system, conservative treatment, lymph node mapping, fertility preservation, surgical approach, and tumor management for tumors up to 2 cm. These advances aim to provide more tailored treatment to prevent complications and ensure oncologic safety.

Summary: Background Radical trachelectomy is a viable option for early-stage cervical cancer patients who want to preserve reproductive function. This study compared laparoscopic and abdominal radical trachelectomy and provided data on oncological and obstetric outcomes. The results showed no significant difference in oncological outcomes between the two surgical approaches, but laparoscopic surgery resulted in less blood loss and shorter hospital stays.

Summary: Abdominal radical trachelectomy in pregnant patients with early cervical cancer yielded satisfactory results, with the majority of patients giving birth to live newborns through elective C-section and no reports of disease recurrence postoperatively. Further evidence is needed to establish its effectiveness as a standard of care for cervical cancer during pregnancy.

Summary: This study evaluated timing and a prediction model for pregnancy in early-stage cervical cancer patients who underwent fertility-sparing trachelectomy. It found that younger age, being married, and postoperative reproductive treatment were associated with an increased chance of subsequent pregnancy. A Subsequent Pregnancy Index (SPI) score was proposed to predict the likelihood of having pregnancy, with higher scores correlating with higher subsequent pregnancy rates.

Summary: This study evaluated the efficacy of preoperative brachytherapy (PBT) in early-stage cervical cancer and found that PBT can improve pathological and oncological outcomes. Summary: This study examined the oncological and obstetric outcomes of radical trachelectomy in early-stage cervical cancer patients. The results showed that radical trachelectomy is a safe and effective treatment for preserving fertility in women with early-stage cervical cancer, particularly for those with tumor size ≤ 4 cm.

Summary: Moral distress has attracted attention among health professionals in recent years, but this study found that Consumer Health Information Professionals (CHIPS) do not appear to experience moral distress, but rather frequently face ethical dilemmas. The study also found that individuals who identified as Black and Latinx, as well as those with less experience, were more likely to experience discomfort in their occupation as CHIPS.

Summary: The growing number of older incarcerated individuals in prisons has become a concern for prison reform advocates and human rights activists. While older individuals experience an accelerated aging process in prison, they are less likely to reoffend upon release. However, the lived experience of older formerly incarcerated individuals during the reentry process remains understudied. This qualitative cohort study aims to understand the unique needs, beliefs, and perceptions of this population in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Summary: In recent years, there has been growing interest in the concept of misogynistic extremism among scholars, governments, law enforcement personnel, and the media. However, there is no consistent understanding of how this phenomenon is defined and conceptualized. To address the potential impact of misogynistic extremism, a scoping review was conducted to analyze existing publications. It was found that misogynistic extremism is most frequently conceptualized in the context of misogynistic incels, male supremacism, far-right extremism, terrorism, and the black pill ideology.

Summary: This study compared the analgesic effect and opioid consumption between the use of liposomal bupivacaine combined with 0.5% bupivacaine for transversus abdominis plane block and the use of liposomal bupivacaine alone for incisional infiltration in patients undergoing midline vertical laparotomy. The results showed no significant difference in the analgesic effect and opioid consumption between the two methods.
