Summary: This study aimed to investigate the duration of host immunity and the role of serological testing in ESRD patients receiving haemodialysis who tested positive for COVID-19. The results showed that antibody response can be detected at least 7 months after COVID-19 infection, providing hope for similar protection with approved vaccines.

A pilot project evaluating a fixed drainage system (U-Drain) for automated peritoneal dialysis

Dimitrios Poulikakos, Joanne Martin, Joanne Collier, David Lewis

Summary: U-Drain is a fixed drainage system for automated peritoneal dialysis that connects dialysis effluent outflow directly to the household drainage system, avoiding the use of drain bags. The pilot project showed increased patient satisfaction and an acceptable safety profile for the U-Drain technology.

Occupational exposure of healthcare workers to COVID- 19 and infection prevention control measures in haemodialysis facilities in North West of England

Simon Gray, Toni Clough, Yvonne Mcgee, Tracey Murphy, Rosemary Donne, Dimitrios Poulikakos

Summary: COVID-19 infection rates are high in haemodialysis facilities due to comorbidities and frequent treatment attendance. In order to reduce transmission and occupational exposure risk, IPC measures were implemented in a renal center.
