We report the case of a patient diagnosed with severe pneumonia due to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). A percutaneous lung biopsy was performed under ultrasound guidance. Morphological and ultrastructural characteristics of the patient's lungs are presented, along with details of some important changes in inflammatory biological markers, in order to help better understand the disease and provide clues to allow members of the multidisciplinary team to save more people. Summary: Potassium-ion batteries (PIBs) are a promising alternative to lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) for large-scale electrochemical storage devices due to the abundance of potassium resources. However, PIB electrodes typically have low capacity and poor cyclic stability, as well as safety concerns. In this study, zinc phosphide composites are designed as PIB anodes in a nonflammable triethyl phosphate (TEP) electrolyte to address these issues. The optimized composite shows high specific capacity and excellent cycling performance, attributed to reversible dynamic evolutions and conversions of sulfur-containing species in the solid electrolyte interphase (SEI).
