Summary: CircC16orf62 acts as an oncogene in HCC progression, promoting cancer development through the miR-138-5p/PTK2/Akt pathway. It functions as a molecular sponge for miR-138-5p and a competitive endogenous RNA for PTK2, activating the AKT/mTOR pathway.

Summary: In this study, we discovered that circPTTG1IP, a circular RNA, acts as a tumor suppressor in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Low expression of circPTTG1IP is associated with poor prognosis in HCC patients. Mechanistically, circPTTG1IP functions as a competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) of RNF125 by binding miR-16-5p, thereby increasing the level of E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF125 and promoting the degradation of JAK1 protein. Filgotinib, a JAK1 inhibitor, can restrict HCC progression induced by low circPTTG1IP expression.

Summary: Early HCC diagnosis is challenging, especially for AFP-negative cases. miRNA profiles may serve as potential molecular markers for HCC. This study aimed to evaluate the expression levels of four miRNAs (hsa-miR-21-5p, hsa-miR-155-5p, hsa-miR-192-5p, and hsa-miR-199a-5p) as biomarkers for HCC in CHCV patients with liver cirrhosis, particularly AFP-negative HCC cases.

Summary: In this study, miR-4524-5p was found to downregulate the expression of MRP4, and circHIPK3 was shown to regulate MRP4 expression by sponging miR-124-3p and miR-4524-5p for the first time. These results may offer new insights into preventing MRP4-related proliferation and multiple drug resistance in HCC.

Summary: SPINK1 is upregulated in HCC and correlates with poor prognosis, promoting cell proliferation, cell cycle, and invasion. CircRPS16 may regulate SPINK1 expression by sponging miR-876-5p, affecting cell functions. Additionally, silencing circRPS16 inhibited tumor growth by downregulating SPINK1 expression, suggesting potential therapeutic targets for HCC patients.

Summary: In this study, it was found that the expression levels of TTN-AS1 and SPOCK1 were significantly increased in HCC, while the expression level of miR-139-5p was markedly reduced. Functional experiments demonstrated that TTN-AS1 can promote the proliferation, migration, invasion, and EMT of HCC cells by regulating the miR-139-5p/SPOCK1 axis.

Summary: Research has shown that MALAT1 and Nova1 are upregulated in doxorubicin-resistant HCC tissues and cells, while miR-3129-5p expression is decreased. Knockdown of MALAT1 regulates doxorubicin resistance of HCC cells by inhibiting proliferation, migration, invasion, and promoting apoptosis, with Nova1 being a target gene of miR-3129-5p that can reverse the effects of miR-3129-5p expression.

Summary: Popular semi-supervised medical image segmentation networks often suffer from error supervision due to lacking labeled data. They only compute single pixel-level consistency and ignore the relationship between labeled and unlabeled data, resulting in uncertain prediction results. This paper proposes a novel adversarial self-ensembling network using dynamic convolution (ASE-Net) to address these problems. By employing an adversarial consistency training strategy (ACTS) and a dynamic convolution-based bidirectional attention component (DyBAC), ASE-Net improves prediction quality and reduces overfitting risk.
