Summary: Analysis of the National Cancer Database found that LG is associated with advantages in lymph node yield, hospital stay, and unplanned re-admission rate, with no significant differences in postoperative complications and mortality rates. Median survival was similar between LG and OG. This study demonstrates that equivalent long-term outcomes are being achieved between LG and OG.

Summary: Comparing long-term oncologic outcomes between robotic gastrectomy (RG) and laparoscopic gastrectomy (LG) for locally advanced gastric cancer (AGC) patients showed no significant difference in survival and recurrence rates, indicating that RG is a safe and effective treatment option.

Summary: Only about one in three patients achieved a textbook oncologic outcome following resection of gastric adenocarcinoma. The odds of achieving a textbook oncologic outcome increased over time, largely due to improved lymph node evaluation.

Summary: The study compared the short-term surgical outcomes of robotic gastrectomy (RG) and open gastrectomy (OG). The researchers found that RG can significantly reduce operative bleeding, although it has a longer surgical time compared to OG. The short-term complications, length of hospital stay, and readmissions in 30 days were equivalent between the two groups.

Summary: A comparison between robotic gastrectomy (RG) and laparoscopic gastrectomy (LG) for gastric cancer patients found that RG did not reduce the incidence of intra-abdominal infectious complications.

Summary: The incidence of proximal gastric cancer continues to rise, despite the use of laparoscopic proximal gastrectomy as a surgical treatment. The lack of consensus on optimal reconstruction methods and uncertainty about the oncological safety for advanced gastric disease have hindered the widespread adoption and standardization of this procedure. More research is needed, including multicenter randomized controlled trials, to evaluate reconstruction methods and oncological safety.

Summary: This study confirms the safety and feasibility of laparoscopy-assisted gastrectomy (LAG) for gastric cancer, showing non-inferior oncological outcomes compared to open gastrectomy (OG) for both early and advanced gastric cancer (AGC). The overall survival and disease-free survival rates were similar between LAG and OG groups, with laparoscopy-assisted distal and total gastrectomy also producing comparable long-term outcomes in AGC patients.

Summary: A large-scale multicenter retrospective cohort study compared the outcomes of robotic gastrectomy (RG) and laparoscopic gastrectomy (LG) for gastric cancer. The study found that RG had advantages in terms of postoperative complications, blood loss, and lymph node retrieval, while long-term oncological outcomes were similar between the two groups. The study suggests that RG may be an alternative surgical treatment to LG.

Summary: This study compared the short- and long-term outcomes of robotic total gastrectomy (RTG) and conventional laparoscopic total gastrectomy (LTG) in patients with clinical stage I/IIA gastric cancer. The results showed that RTG reduced the risk of complications compared to LTG, although the operative time was longer. Overall survival was equivalent between the two approaches.

Summary: This study aimed to report a single surgeon's experience on robotic rectal resection (RRR) for cancer, focusing on the analysis of oncologic outcomes, including pathological features and long-term results; under appropriate logistic and operative conditions, robotic surgery for rectal cancer proves to be oncologically effective, with adequate pathological results and long-term outcomes. It also offers acceptable peri-operative outcomes, further confirming the safety and feasibility of the technique.

Summary: Robotic gastrectomy (RG) shows potential as an alternative to open gastrectomy (OG) for gastric cancer (GC), with less blood loss, shorter hospital stay, and fewer postoperative complications. However, RG has a lower occurrence of positive lymph nodes and longer operative time compared to OG.

Summary: Chemotherapy plus surgery may offer a survival benefit for selected patients with metastatic gastric adenocarcinoma. Age, year of diagnosis, tumor grade, and treatment modalities are significant prognostic factors for survival outcomes. The study highlights the importance of individualized treatment approaches for patients with this disease.

Summary: The study compared the outcomes of different surgical approaches (RDP, LDP, and ODP) in the treatment of PDAC patients, showing no significant differences in baseline characteristics and postoperative complications among the three approaches. The different surgical approaches did not have a significant impact on overall survival rates.

Summary: Searching English language articles on PubMed between January 2019 and June 2020 for the keywords Propofol TIVA, IV anesthesia, cancer surgery, and surgical oncology, revealed that in-vitro and translational data suggest inhalational anesthetics promote metastasis, while propofol prevents it. Some retrospective single institution clinical studies suggest that TIVA is associated with improved disease-free interval and overall survival in certain solid tumors. Further research through prospective randomized trials is needed to define this association.
