Antibacterial Sericin Cryogels Promote Hemostasis by Facilitating the Activation of Coagulation Pathway and Platelets

Yuanyuan Zhu, Huan Liu, Sumei Qin, Cheng Yang, Qiying Lv, Zheng Wang, Lin Wang

Summary: This study developed a cryogel SMC@Ag with high water/blood absorption, outstanding hemostatic and antibacterial performance, which showed much better hemostatic performance than the commercial gelatin sponge. The excellent hemostatic activity of SMC@Ag is due to facilitating the coagulation pathway activation and enhancing the platelets adhesion during coagulation process.

The Expression Pattern of Hypoxia-Related Genes Predicts the Prognosis and Mediates Drug Resistance in Colorectal Cancer

Ye Yuan, Lulu Tan, Liping Wang, Danyi Zou, Jia Liu, Xiaohuan Lu, Daan Fu, Guobin Wang, Lin Wang, Zheng Wang

Summary: This study identified hypoxia as the primary factor influencing CRC prognosis and constructed a gene signature that can accurately predict individual prognosis. Additionally, stromal and immune cells in the tumor microenvironment were found to be associated with hypoxia. The expression of drug resistance-related genes is crucial in CRC treatment decision-making.

LncRNA-targeting bio-scaffold mediates triple immune effects for postoperative colorectal cancer immunotherapy

Feng Liu, Zheng Dai, Qian Cheng, Luming Xu, Lei Huang, Zhibo Liu, Xiaoqiong Li, Ning Wang, Guobin Wang, Lin Wang, Zheng Wang

Summary: This study develops a novel bio-scaffold for mediating postoperative colorectal cancer (CRC) recurrence by targeting long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs). The bio-scaffold, which encapsulates lncRNA-targeting biomimetic nanosystems and chemotherapy drug Oxaliplatin (Oxa), effectively suppresses CRC local recurrence and distant metastasis, while generating robust immune memory responses.
