Summary: Digital transformation has a significant impact on all stages of the agri-food value chain. Companies in the agri-food sector combine digitalization with innovations and eco-innovations to gain a competitive advantage. The research aims to identify the drivers of digitalization in agri-food companies and develop a ranking index based on those drivers, examining the relationship between ranking and innovation. The results show that management support and competitive pressure are the key drivers, while external support and blockchain technology have less influence at present.

Summary: This study examines the impact of financial efficiency and eco-innovation on renewable energy consumption in OECD countries. The empirical results show positive correlations between financial efficiency, eco-innovation, and renewable energy consumption, but the promotion effect gradually decreases with higher quantiles. Therefore, it is suggested to enhance financial resources, promote competition among financial institutions, and encourage eco-innovation to improve renewable energy utilization.

Summary: Improving technological innovation efficiency and eco-efficiency is crucial for achieving a high-quality and sustainable mining industry in China. This study applies a two-stage DEA model to measure the mining technological innovation efficiency (MTIE), mining eco-efficiency (MEE), and mining comprehensive efficiency (MCE) of 30 provinces in China. The findings show the impact of mining economic development on MCE, regional differences in MTIE and MEE, and the need for efficiency optimization through different paths. Policy recommendations are provided to guide the high-quality development of the Chinese mining industry.

Summary: This study measures the green innovation efficiency of the Yangtze River Economic Belt and analyzes the impact of government environmental regulations on this efficiency. The results show that mandatory environmental regulations and financial subsidies for green innovation positively promote regional green innovation efficiency, while government investment in environmental governance has a negative impact. Moreover, this negative impact turns into a positive effect when it exceeds a certain threshold. There is also significant regional heterogeneity in the impact of environmental regulations on green innovation efficiency, with greater impacts on downstream provinces and cities.

Summary: The paper applies the three-stage network DEA and DEA-Malmquist method to measure the innovation efficiency of the high-tech Manufacturing industry in China from 2009 to 2017. The analysis is divided into two parts, analyzing the innovation efficiency using a three-stage network DEA and evaluating the efficiency of technological innovation dynamically using the DEA-Malmquist index method. The findings show that there is room for improvement in the average innovation efficiency, especially in the basic and applied innovation stages. The development of high technology is unbalanced and insufficient, with innovation mainly driven by the east.

Summary: The main goal of this paper is to determine whether R&D funds are used efficiently in African countries. Among the analyzed countries, those on the efficiency frontier regarding the use of CRS methodology are South Africa and Tunisia. According to VRS methodology, the most efficient nations are South Africa, Tunisia, and Madagascar. The performed analysis has not confirmed our hypothesis regarding the non-proportional relation between higher R&D spending and innovation outputs.
