Summary: This paper uses the Seo and Shin (2016) threshold model to investigate the impact of corruption on sustainable development. The results support the existence of thresholds and show that the impact of corruption on sustainable development is regime-specific and dependent on the quality of governance. In developed countries, corruption always hinders sustainable development, while in developing countries, the impact of corruption varies depending on governance quality, with highly corrupt countries achieving higher levels of sustainable development when governance quality is low.

Summary: This paper explores the spatial and temporal pattern evolution of the decoupling relationship between innovation capability and resource consumption in 283 cities in China using the improved Tapio decoupling model and geographic information system spatial analysis technology. The study finds that innovation capability and resource consumption in Chinese cities exhibit a weak decoupling state. Regions with significant decoupling show a trend of spatial agglomeration, and the positive impact of population growth and innovation intensity on resource consumption outweighs the inhibitory effect of resource efficiency improvement.
