Summary: Metastasis to the liver, a common pattern with poor prognosis, poses challenges to conventional therapies. Poor metastatic targeting ability, systemic toxicities, and inability to modulate the tumor microenvironment are major drawbacks. Lipid nanoparticles-based strategies, such as galactosylated or active-targeting chemotherapeutics liposomes, show promise in liver metastasis management. This review summarizes the state-of-art lipid nanoparticles-based therapies, focusing on drug-encapsulated nanoparticles targeting cancer cells and the tumor microenvironment for future clinical oncology practice.

Summary: Metastatic evolution in clear cell renal cell carcinoma is complex, with tumor heterogeneity resulting from clonal evolution playing a role in metastatic dissemination. Using an integrative multiomics strategy, it was found that all sites were heterogeneous and polyclonal, with each tumor site containing two aggressive subclonal populations.

Summary: Local treatment may improve overall survival in patients with esophagogastric cancer and oligometastatic disease (OMD). The current literature defines OMD as the presence of metastases limited to one organ with no more than three lesions and the presence of an extra-regional lymph node station. Local treatment appears to be associated with improved OS compared to systemic therapy alone.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the long-term survival of patients with recurrent or oligometastatic gynecological cancer (ROMGC) treated with radiation therapy (RT) and investigate their clinical characteristics. The study found that patients in the chemoradiation group had higher median disease-free survival (DFS) compared to those treated with RT alone. Further randomized studies are needed to identify the patients who would benefit the most.
