Summary: TRIM37 is upregulated in T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL), and it promotes the proliferation and reduces the sensitivity of T-ALL cells to bortezomib treatment by enhancing PTEN degradation and activating PI3K/AKT signaling pathway. These findings suggest that TRIM37 could be a potential therapeutic target for T-ALL.

Summary: Ampelopsin (dihydromyricetin), a plant-derived flavonoid, significantly inhibits the proliferation of two leukemia cell lines while not affecting the viability of normal cells. Its anticancer effects include cell cycle regulation, induction of apoptosis, and downregulation of signaling pathways. Ampelopsin shows promise as an attractive chemotherapeutic agent against leukemia.

Summary: Nicotinamide riboside can be imported into cells by equilibrative nucleoside transporters, while nicotinic acid riboside requires active utilization in the cytosol before being taken up by HEK293 cells. Concentrative nucleoside transporters do not mediate the uptake of nicotinamide riboside.

Summary: Accumulating evidence suggests that MT2A plays a crucial role in the occurrence and development of AML. MT2A over-expression inhibits cell reproductive capacity, increases apoptosis rate, reduces Bcl2 expression, and enhances Bax expression, leading to G2/M phase arrest. Conversely, interference with MT2A expression significantly increases cell proliferative potential, indicating a potential role of MT2A in AML cell growth and function via the NF-κB signaling pathway.

Summary: This study reveals the crucial role of osteopontin (OPN) in acute myeloid leukemia (AML), showing that OPN contributes to the maintenance of leukemia stem cells (LSCs) by preventing apoptosis and cell cycle arrest. Therefore, OPN could be a potential therapeutic target for AML treatment.

Summary: In this study, it was found that inhibition of MEIS1 activity promoted apoptosis, inhibited cell proliferation, and enhanced the anticancer effect of drugs in acute myeloid leukemia cells. This suggests that inhibition of MEIS1 may be a potential strategy for the treatment of AML.

Summary: miR-21-5p regulates the role of endothelial progenitor cells-derived exosomes in sepsis-induced acute kidney injury through downregulation of RUNX1 expression. Upregulation of miR-21-5p improved renal function and reduced inflammation, while EPCs-exos showed similar effects in this process.

Summary: The nucleoside analog entecavir (ETV) is a first-line pharmacotherapy for chronic hepatitis B in adult and pediatric patients. However, insufficient data on placental transfer and pregnancy effects limit its recommended use in women after conception. This study investigated the contribution of various transporters to the placental kinetics of ETV and found that ENTs, but not CNTs, ABCB1, ABCG2, and ABCC2, significantly affect ETV transport across the placenta.

Summary: The study examines the effects of black seed oil on T cells in patients with Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT). The results show that black seed oil can inhibit the proliferation of CD4(+) and CD8(+) T cells and induce cell death in HT patients and healthy women. It also reduces the concentration of certain cytokines.

Summary: In this study, the antileukemic effects of five SYK inhibitors were evaluated in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The inhibitors showed concentration-dependent antiproliferative effects and induced apoptosis in AML cells. They also significantly decreased the release of cytokines and chemokines. Further studies are needed to identify patient subsets that will benefit most from this treatment.
