Summary: This study evaluated the association between cardio-ankle vascular index (CAVI) and CAVI(0) with blood pressure indices. The results showed that both right and left CAVI were associated with systolic, diastolic, and mean blood pressure, while only CAVI(0) was associated with systolic blood pressure.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the impact of the local injection of the combination of DEX and Lidocaine on patients' anxiety and the surgeon's satisfaction during third-molar extraction surgery. The results showed that patients in the DEX group were more relaxed than those in the LIDO alone group, and both the surgeon and the patients reported a significantly higher satisfaction rate in the DEX group.

Reconstruction of Severely Atrophied Mandible and Simultaneous Implant Insertion with an Inverted Sandwich Technique

Summary: A severely atrophied mandible of a 40-year-old female patient was reconstructed and rehabilitated using split-thickness calvarial grafts and simultaneous implant placement. The inverted sandwich technique was employed with 2 grafts and 4 onlay bone blocks fixed with lag screws. The procedure showed successful outcomes with no complications reported after 4 and 8 months of follow-up.

Hybrid Distractor for Continuous Mandibular Distraction Osteogenesis

Summary: Distraction osteogenesis is an effective method for bone deficiency reconstruction in the oral and maxillofacial area. This study proposes a hybrid distractor that combines motor-driven and hydraulic techniques to achieve continuous distraction and precise control of the bone segment position. The modeling and experimental results demonstrate that the hybrid distractor meets all the requirements for continuous distraction osteogenesis in humans.

Summary: The present experiment aimed to assess the preventive effects of L-PRF on osteonecrosis of the jaw in rats. The application of L-PRF resulted in a significant reduction in osteonecrosis centers and the number of osteoclast cells. Therefore, it can be inferred that possible preventive effects on the clinical occurrence of osteonecrosis could be expected from the application of L-PRF.
