A carbon quantum dots modified bismuth bromide composite photocatalyst (CQDs/BiOBr) was synthesized by a mild hydrothermal method. The CQDs/BiOBr exhibited enhanced photocatalytic degradation of bisphenol A. The reason could be attributed to the broader light respond region and enhanced separation ratio of photoinduced electron-hole pairs after the introducing of CQDs. Interestingly, not only the up-conversion photoluminescence property, but also the photosensitization effect of CQDs worked together in driving BiOBr into broader-spectrum-response.
