The integration of multiple photocatalysts may dramatically enhance stability through their coordinated actions in impeding the photocorrosion. Herein, we develop a synergistic quaternary CdS-MoS2-WS2-Pt photocatalyst via a facile microwave-assisted method. This quaternary catalyst exhibits an excellent hydrogen production efficiency (400 times higher than pure CdS) and long durability of 100 h. We also demonstrate that the synergistic interactions of multiple photocatalysts boost the charge transfer by separating the electron charge carrier from the catalysts. The design strategy of synergistic multiple components catalysts provides new insights to developing high-performance catalysts beyond hydrogen evolution reaction.
