Summary: This study retrospectively analyzed epidemiological data of 408 hospitalized facial injury patients in Al-Ain City, United Arab Emirates, and investigated factors affecting mortality. The majority of patients were young males, and the main causes of injury were road traffic collisions and falls from height. The Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) was identified as the only factor predicting mortality, with patients having a low GCS being more likely to die.

Summary: Water demand forecasting is crucial for the sustainable management of water resources, especially in countries with water scarcity challenges. This study presents a linear forecast model to predict the water demand of Al-Ain City in the UAE up to the year 2030, based on historical consumption patterns and other relevant factors. The results indicate that the total water demand is projected to increase by 45%, with the residential sector accounting for the highest demand.

Summary: This study developed an optimal fast-charging station planning model considering various factors such as EV users' convenience, station economic benefits, impact on distribution systems, and environmental effects. The proposed queuing-theory-based charging station sizing algorithm improved station capacity utilization. Simulation results showed benefits in terms of EV users' satisfaction, cost savings, better station utilization, and reduced impact on power grids and the environment.

Summary: This study presents a comprehensive investigation into the groundwater aquifers, subsurface structures, and stratigraphy of the Al Jaww Plain in the UAE. Through geophysical and borehole investigations, the properties of three interconnected aquifers have been identified and characterized. The study also provides insights into the westward extension of the Hawasina thrust sheet and delineates the extent of the Semail ophiolite in the region. These findings are valuable for understanding freshwater resources and subsurface structures in the area.

Summary: A Magnetotelluric (MT) survey was conducted in the Al-Mubazzarah Geothermal Area (AMGA) in Al-Ain city, United Arab Emirates in 2017, revealing three resistivity-defined layers. The study also suggests the presence of a region where the hot groundwaters originated (geothermal reservoir), with the hottest geothermal located at a depth greater than 4 km. Additionally, the research confirmed the existence of a north dipping major fault in the area.
