Summary: This study examines the role of innovation in sustainable performance of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the context of circular economy. The results show that R&D and patents are positively related to sustainable performance, and innovation is positively related to social and environmental performance. R&D investment can improve economic performance. The study also finds that social and environmental performance mediate the relationship between innovation and profitability, and firm age and ownership type moderate the relationship between innovation and economic performance.

Summary: Surface water samples from three catchments with different land uses (forested, agricultural, and urban) were analyzed for nanoparticulate titanium dioxide (NPs-TiO2). The study found an increase in NPs-TiO2 concentration during warmer months in forested and agricultural catchments, with NPs-TiO2 primarily originating from geogenic sources in these systems. The annual flux of NPs-TiO2 was highest in the agricultural catchment, indicating different impacts of agricultural practices on NPs-TiO2 dynamics compared to other land uses.

Summary: Due to financial, talent, and technology barriers, SMEs are at risk if they do not engage in digital transformation. Choosing existing solutions from professional DT providers is a good option for SMEs, but selecting the most suitable solution remains a challenge. To help SMEs in this process, a novel assessment method based on prospect theory and hesitant picture fuzzy linguistic sets (HPFLSs) was proposed.

Summary: Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) play a crucial role in a country's economy by creating jobs, generating income, and fostering production and innovation. Credit risk assessment (CRA) has traditionally relied on credit scores and financial statements, but with the emergence of machine learning (ML) algorithms, lenders have a new tool to evaluate the creditworthiness of MSMEs. This study introduces an innovative knowledge graph-driven credit risk assessment model (RGCN-RF) that utilizes the Relational Graph Convolutional Network (RGCN) and Random Forest (RF) algorithm to classify MSMEs based on their credit history and transactional data.

Summary: The role of information and communication technologies in businesses today is crucial. Although these advancements bring advantages and opportunities, they also pose new challenges such as cyberattacks. This research focuses on assessing cyber risks in online retailing SMEs, specifically in the United Kingdom. A sample of 124 small e-tailers is used, employing a multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) method. The study identifies 28 cyber-oriented risks across five themes and develops a risk assessment pathway using step-wise weight assessment ratio analysis (SWARA) and the best-worst method (BWM).

Summary: This study assessed the health of the Qiaobian River in China using two essential river health assessment methods, M-HSC and PSR, and found both methods to be suitable with minor differences in effectiveness. M-HSC was recommended for wet season assessments due to its convenience, while PSR better reflected the actual situations in the dry season. PSR was more applicable to urban rivers impacted by human disturbances, whereas M-HSC was better suited for rural rivers affected by water conservancy projects.

Summary: The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the advantages of online knowledge communities and emphasized the impact of platform incentive configurations on knowledge collaboration performance. Using the fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis method, this study analyzed the configurations of platform incentives for high knowledge collaboration performance and discussed the heterogeneity of knowledge capital appreciation and social capital appreciation. The results show that economic benefits, social identity, community reputation, and skill training are important incentives for knowledge collaboration, while communication needs to be supplemented by appropriate economic incentives to promote the appreciation of social capital.

Summary: The excessive use of pesticides and fertilisers is hindering sustainable agricultural development, with China showing lower efficiency in fertilizer and pesticide use compared to developed countries such as the Netherlands and the USA. The primary industry's value added is the main driver of increased pesticide and fertiliser inputs in China. Further analysis at the provincial level helps identify areas for focus on reducing pesticide and fertiliser application and increasing efficiency at the national level in the future.

Summary: In the study of ecosystem health, maintaining the balance between natural and artificial capital is crucial. The Ecosystem Health Index (EHI), developed based on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), includes indicators like SPI, EDI, NEI, and a pressure adjustment coefficient. The analysis of EHIs in 30 Chinese provinces from 2013 to 2019 showed overall improvement, with 19 provinces achieving a healthy state. Spatially, there was regional aggregation in 2013 but the differences between regions had narrowed by 2019, indicating progress in balancing natural and artificial capital.

Summary: The study shows that the majority of tourism cities have a significant gap in sustainable development and have not achieved a strong sustainable development model. Natural and cultural resources, as well as protection systems, are the weaknesses of the overall system. Tourism cities in the eastern and southern coastal areas have a higher level of sustainable development compared to those in the northwest and the middle reaches of the Yellow River.

Summary: Through energy transition, China can play a role in addressing global climate challenges and achieving carbon neutrality. However, the development of energy transition might be constrained by mineral resources. This study investigates 18 minerals based on the energy transition scenario in China and finds that wind power and photovoltaics will dominate future power generation. Some minerals, such as Co and In, may face risks, which could limit the development of electric vehicles and photovoltaics. Therefore, resource security strategies should be developed in advance to ensure a stable supply of mineral resources during the energy transition process.
