Summary: This study reports the aggregation and sensing properties of two neutral benzimidazole-based urea receptors. R1 exhibits aggregation-induced emission (AIE) properties, while R2 shows typical aggregation-caused quenching (ACQ) behavior. Both R1 and R2 can sense SO42-/HSO4- in an aqueous medium, although with different binding affinities.

Summary: This study reveals major developmental defects in pale seedlings of the Arabidopsis pmt1 pmt3 double mutant, with impairments in xylem of the hypocotyl and reduced chloroplast development and photosynthetic activity in leaves. While both PMT1 and PMT3 are localized in the endoplasmic reticulum, they exhibit distinct tissue-specific expression patterns, and the function of PMT3 requires its characteristic N-terminal sequence in addition to the promoter.

Summary: The study reveals that long unanchored K63-polyUb chains (n ≥ 8) mediate tetramerization of MDA5CARDs, bridging MDA5CARDs and MAVS into proximity. ATP binding and hydrolysis stabilize RNA-bound MDA5 and promote MAVS activation via allosteric effects on CARDs-polyUb complex.

Summary: DM1 is an incurable neuromuscular disorder caused by toxic DMPK transcripts leading to reduced availability of MBNL1. This study introduces a promising compound, pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidin-7-(8H)-ones derivative 1a, which shows potential anti-DM1 activity by enhancing MBNL1 recovery.

Summary: This study positions a variety of binding molecules in rationally designed and self-assembling DNA crystals and solves their structures via X-ray crystallography, providing insights into the design principles for the spatial arrangement of functional guests within lattices. It opens up new potential opportunities for the use of DNA crystals to display and structurally characterize small molecules, peptides, and ultimately proteins of unknown structure.

Summary: Adaptive immunity is regulated by tolerogenic mechanisms, but it faces challenges in combating microbes that mimic self-antigens. A study shows that the innate immune lectin Galectin-7 (Gal-7) can recognize various microbes that display blood group-like antigens, leading to their loss of viability without causing harm to host cells.

Summary: This study reframes emotion-cause pair extraction as a unified sequence labeling problem, allowing to extract emotion-cause pairs through one pass of sequence labeling. The proposed unified target-oriented sequence-to-sequence model comprehensively utilizes the information of target clause, global context, and former decoded label to perform end-to-end unified sequence labeling, demonstrating its effectiveness through experimental results.

Summary: This study describes a new class of immunostimulatory short duplex RNAs that can induce the production of interferons and exhibit broad-spectrum inhibition against respiratory viruses with pandemic potential. These short double-stranded RNAs are easily manufacturable and have the potential to serve as broad-spectrum antiviral therapeutics.

Summary: This study investigates the interaction between CXCR1 and IL8, showing that ligand binding restricts the conformational plasticity of the apo-receptor N-terminal domain, leading to an open C-shaped conformation. These findings suggest a new strategy for understanding intrinsically disordered regions in GPCRs.

Summary: Increasing evidence shows that ribosome composition and modifications contribute to translation control, and direct mRNA binding by ribosomal proteins plays a role in regulating specific mRNA translation and ribosome specialization. In this study, CRISPR-Cas9 was used to mutate the RPS26 C-terminus, which affects translation directed by Kozak and Translation Initiator of Short 5 ' UTR (TISU) by binding to specific positions in the 5 ' untranslated region (5 ' UTR). The RPS26dC mutation confers resistance to glucose starvation and mTOR inhibition, affects energy metabolism, and alters the translatome of cells. These findings highlight the importance of RPS26 C-terminal RNA binding in translation regulation and energy stress response.

Summary: As a small DNA virus, hepatitis B virus (HBV) and its encoded HBX protein play significant roles in HBV replication and virus-related diseases. In this review, the modulation of host defense responses mediated by pattern recognition receptors (PRRs) is explored, with a focus on how HBX controls PRR signaling to promote HBV replication and viral diseases. Understanding the regulation of PRR signaling by HBX may offer new therapeutic strategies for HBV infection.
