Summary: This study aimed to investigate changes in lipid parameters around the final menstrual period (FMP) in Chinese women. The results showed that total cholesterol, LDL-C, and TGs began to increase in early transition, regardless of baseline age. HDL-C decreased first and then increased during postmenopause in older women. BMI and FMP age were important factors affecting lipid trajectory mainly during postmenopause.

Summary: The decline in AMH levels in women during the menopause transition is associated with rapid bone loss, and measuring AMH can help identify women at risk for significant bone loss for early intervention.

Summary: This study monitored long-term changes in bone mineral density (BMD) in postmenopausal women over a 25-year period. It found that higher baseline BMD was associated with higher bone loss rate, while lower baseline BMI and greater BMI increase helped protect against postmenopausal bone loss. Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) users had lower bone loss compared to non-users.

Summary: This study assessed the fatty acid profile of postmenopausal women's whole blood, taking into account anthropometric parameters. The results showed that the fatty acid profile is moderately influenced by anthropometric variables. Therefore, more prospective research is needed.

Summary: This study found that both genetic and environmental factors play essential roles in obesity and cardiometabolic disease traits. However, as age increases, the influence of genetic factors decreases and the importance of environmental factors increases.

Summary: The goal of this research was to study the impact of individual characteristics and gender on the response of osteoporosis patients to bisphosphonate medication. The results showed that male patients experienced a significant increase in bone mineral density after two years of therapy, while female patients had smaller changes. This difference was attributed to ovarian failure and estrogen loss in male patients.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate trends in bone mineral density loss and related factors in early postmenopausal women in Japan, and predict the occurrence of osteoporosis before it happens. The results showed that weight, body mass index (BMI), height, and handgrip strength were positively correlated with bone mineral density. Higher weight and BMI were also associated with a greater decrease in bone mineral density of the femoral neck over a 9 or 10 year period.

Summary: The study revealed that fracture risk is closely related to body composition, with higher baseline BMI and previous BMI gain inversely associated with all types of fractures, while higher baseline waist-to-height ratio was associated with hip fracture rates. After adjusting for BMD, higher baseline BMI, total lean mass index, fat mass index, and prior BMI gain were linked to increased fracture rates.

Summary: This study found a positive relationship between obesity and bone mineral density (BMD) in individuals over the age of 50. It also identified a saturation value for BMI and BMD, suggesting that maintaining a moderate BMI level (around 24.3 kg/m(2)) would result in optimal BMD in older adults.

Summary: Metabolomics in human serum samples provides a snapshot of an individual's current metabolic state, influenced by various factors. Through analysis of a large-scale targeted metabolomics dataset, associations were found between age, sex, body mass index, diet, menopausal status, and specific metabolite concentrations. Strong associations were also observed between higher food consumption and certain metabolites.

Summary: This comprehensive review of human adipose tissue fails to mention the role of the endocannabinoid system in fat metabolism. The endogenous cannabinoids and their receptors, found in both white and brown fat, have been recognized as key players in adipose tissue metabolism. Rimonabant, an inverse agonist of cannabinoid receptor type 1, has shown promising effects as a therapeutic target for obesity, dyslipidemia, and insulin resistance, although its clinical use was discontinued due to neuropsychiatric side effects.

The results showed that progesterone usage was not associated with any alterations in screening parameters, but vaginal bleeding during the first trimester increased the levels of free beta-hCG.

Summary: The aim of this study was to investigate the correlation between magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and intraoperative findings of deep infiltrating endometriosis using the #ENZIAN score. The study demonstrated that MRI has higher sensitivity and specificity in showing lesions in certain compartments, such as the ovaries, rectovaginal septum, and uterosacral ligaments. However, the determination of peritoneal lesions via MRI is inadequate.

Summary: This prospective observational pilot study included 38 women with stage 3 and 4 pelvic organ prolapse, who underwent lateral suspension via V-NOTES using a mesh for repair. The comparison of preoperative and postoperative 6-month POP-Q stages showed significant improvement in POP-Q scores, except for total vaginal length. The postoperative PISQ-12 scores were also considerably improved compared to the preoperative scores.

The results showed that the presence of adenomyosis did not significantly affect the 5-year disease-free survival or overall survival rates of endometrial cancer patients, indicating that it is not a prognostic factor.
