Summary: The aim of this study was to identify the transcriptomic characteristics of the endometrium in normoweight and overweight/obese polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and it was found that there are different gene expression patterns between these two subtypes of PCOS, which may affect endometrial functions in PCOS patients.

Summary: Genetic, lifestyle, and environmental factors contribute to the etiology of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) in women. Higher body mass index (BMI) exacerbates reproductive and metabolic parameters, reducing fecundity of women with PCOS. The study conducted in China reveals differences in phenotypic features between Northern and Southern PCOS patients, mainly driven by discrepancies in BMI and ovulation rates.

Summary: This study found a genetic correlation between PCOS and obesity-related traits, including adult BMI, childhood BMI, and WHR. Cross-trait meta-analysis identified shared loci between PCOS and obesity-related traits. Mendelian randomization supported the causal role of adult BMI and childhood BMI in PCOS, but not WHR or WHRadjBMI. These findings provide insights into the shared genetic basis of obesity and PCOS and emphasize the role of weight management in PCOS prevention.

Summary: There was no significant difference in preterm birth rate among PCOS patients with a BMI <24 kg/m(2) in different AMH level groups. However, for PCOS patients with a BMI >= 24 kg/m(2), an AMH level >6.45 ng/ml was significantly associated with a higher risk of preterm birth, indicating it as an independent risk factor.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the impact of body mass index (BMI) on neonatal outcomes in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) following frozen embryo transfer (FET). The results showed that underweight mothers had a lower rate of large for gestational age (LGA) babies, while overweight mothers had a higher rate of high birth weight infants. Maternal underweight was a protective factor against LGA infants, while maternal overweight was an adverse factor.

Summary: The study aimed to investigate the therapeutic effect of recombinant GDF9 and Cetrorelix on DHEA-induced PCOS in rat pups. The combinational treatment normalized biochemical parameters, improved estrus irregularity, and altered sex hormones and glucose metabolism. Molecular markers expression confirmed the improvement in inflammatory and folliculogenesis genes associated with PCOS. rGDF-9 in combination with Cetrorelix could be a potential therapeutic agent for metabolic and reproductive phenotypes in PCOS.

Summary: This study found that weight issues, dysmorphic concerns, and eating disorder symptoms are common among individuals with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and are associated with poor quality of life. Dysmorphic concerns and eating disorder symptoms mediate the relationship between body mass index (BMI) and quality of life. These findings highlight the importance of harmful relationships with one's own body and food.

Summary: This study evaluated the effects of BMI on pregnancy outcomes in PCOS patients undergoing COS and IUI, finding that obese women may require higher doses of medication and longer treatment duration to achieve pregnancy, with a potentially increased risk of gestational diabetes as BMI increases. The number of treatment cycles and type of infertility may also have predictive value for pregnancy outcomes.

Summary: This study aimed to assess the metabolic and hormonal profile of patients with polycystic ovarian syndrome attending a tertiary care hospital. The results showed that PCOS is most commonly prevalent in young women of the reproductive age group, which can lead to long-term reproductive, metabolic, and oncological complications. Early diagnosis and treatment of PCOS in the adolescent age group are recommended.

Summary: This study found that women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) did not show significant differences in body composition parameters compared to those without PCOS, but they had higher hormone concentrations, with sex hormone binding globulin and free testosterone correlating with all investigated body composition parameters only in the PCOS group. Additionally, logistic regression identified that the concentration of Anti-Mullerian hormones and body mass index could be useful parameters in differentiating women with PCOS from those with other disorders.ROC analysis further confirmed the concentration of Anti-Mullerian hormones as a powerful parameter for categorizing women as suffering from PCOS.

Summary: This study found that infertile women with PCOS have poor quality of life. Infertility-related stress is negatively associated with quality of life. In addition, body mass index (BMI) moderates the association between infertility-related stress and quality of life, with higher BMI exacerbating the effect of stress on quality of life.

Summary: Women with premature ovarian insufficiency have lower bone density compared to healthy women. Hormone therapy with estrogen + progestin has a protective effect on bone mass. Higher doses of estrogen and continuous use of oral contraceptives also have a positive impact. Interrupting hormone therapy for more than a year is associated with significant bone loss.

Summary: The expression levels of miR-96-5p and miR-182-5p have been found to be upregulated in breast cancer, while the protein expression of FOXO3A is decreased. This phenomenon is more prominent in triple-negative breast cancer, suggesting the important role of these molecules in the biology and clinical behavior of this tumor type. These findings provide new perspectives for alternative target therapy options for breast cancer patients expressing both FOXO3A and its regulatory miRNAs.

Summary: In this study, six PRL-R variants associated with prolactinomas were identified, with two variants showing higher frequency in patients compared to the genomic database. These variants were associated with male sex, higher serum PRL levels, larger tumors, and cabergoline resistance. These findings suggest the involvement of the prolactin/prolactin receptor system in prolactinoma tumorigenesis and resistance to cabergoline.

Summary: The aim of this study was to analyze the autonomic modulation of heart rate in hypertensive elderly individuals during and after a session of aerobic exercise, and to compare it with elderly individuals without cardiovascular or metabolic disease. The results showed that after exercise, elderly individuals without cardiovascular and metabolic diseases had a decrease in parasympathetic modulation and global heart rate variability, but it restored within 30 minutes of post-exercise recovery. We concluded that there was no difference in autonomic modulation and global heart rate variability between elderly individuals without cardiovascular and metabolic diseases and hypertensive individuals after a bout of aerobic exercise.

Summary: Our study aimed to investigate the effects of hormonal and metabolic factors on endometrial quality and progesterone action. Subjects were recruited from an outpatient reproductive endocrinology clinic. Endometrial biopsies were performed before and after progesterone treatment, and metabolic and hormonal serum levels were evaluated. The endometrium of women with PCOS in the second phase showed histomorphometric abnormalities, which were associated with androgen and insulin levels despite progesterone supplementation.

Summary: This study aimed to assess whether prior knowledge of computer use determines performance of virtual reality tasks by postmenopausal women and whether menopausal symptoms, sociodemographic factors, lifestyle and cognition modify or interfere with their performance. The study found that postmenopausal computer users performed better in virtual reality games than non-users, and computer users experienced more severe vasomotor symptoms. Age, cognitive function, and headache symptoms were the best predictors affecting the postmenopausal women's performance in virtual reality tasks.

Summary: This review aims to assess the relationship between serum vitamin D levels and in vitro fertilization (IVF) results. The selected 18 articles showed mixed results, with some indicating a positive correlation, some lacking any association, and one exhibiting a negative correlation. Non-Hispanic White patients may be more affected by vitamin D deficiency compared to Asian patients. Vitamin D levels may play a role in the follicular fluid levels and immune system, impacting embryo implantation and pregnancy.
