Summary: Deficiency of TLR2 plays a role in cardiac remodeling and can alleviate cardiac hypertrophy, fibrosis, and inflammation while improving cardiac function. Preventing the formation of TLR2-MyD88 complexes may help prevent Ang II-induced cardiac remodeling and dysfunction.

Summary: Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) plays a crucial role in the innate immune response and cardiovascular diseases. This study found that cardiomyocyte-specific deletion of TLR4 provides protection against hypertension, cardiac hypertrophy, and remodeling. The results showed that in mice with cardiomyocyte-specific TLR4 knockdown, angiotensin II-induced hypertension and cardiac hypertrophy were attenuated, myocardial fibrosis was reduced, and cardiac function was improved.

Summary: There is a significant association between neurodegenerative diseases and cardiac impairment, but current research primarily focuses on the mechanical aspects of the heart rather than electrical disturbances. Many studies have shown important alterations in the electrocardiogram of patients with these diseases and animal models, with limited descriptions of excitability disruptions in cardiomyocytes.

Summary: Mammalian adult cardiomyocytes have limited ability to proliferate following heart injury, leading to adverse fibrotic and myocardial remodeling that ultimately results in heart failure. Various strategies to induce myocardial regeneration after cardiac injury have shown promising results, but still face challenges for clinical application.

Summary: The study investigated the expression levels of miRNA-1 and miRNA-21 in atrial tissues of AF patients and found significant differences compared to patients with sinus rhythm. The down-regulation of miRNA-1 and up-regulation of miRNA-21 were observed in AF patients, indicating their role in molecular remodeling of aging AF.

Summary: The interaction of hypertension and HHcy can lead to enhanced cardiac remodeling, especially in hypertensive rats. HHcy promotes cardiac remodeling by enhancing oxidative stress, suppressing the Nrf2/HO-1 pathway, and inhibiting Nrf2 nuclear transport, with a stronger inhibitory effect in the presence of hypertension.

Summary: This study compares human and mouse models to investigate the pathological remodeling process and timeline of hypertensive heart disease. The findings suggest that perivascular fibrosis plays a significant role in disease progression in humans, while cardiomyocyte hypertrophy has less impact. In addition, the study reveals that CD45+ inflammatory cell infiltration is an early response event preceding myocardial inflammation and fibrosis.

Summary: Cardiac remodeling is a fundamental pathological process in the progression of heart failure from various cardiac diseases. Fibroblast growth factor 21, known as an energy homeostasis regulator, plays a positive role in preventing damage caused by cardiac diseases. This review summarizes the effects and mechanisms of fibroblast growth factor 21 on pathological processes associated with cardiac remodeling, focusing on different types of myocardial tissue cells. The potential of fibroblast growth factor 21 as a promising treatment for cardiac remodeling will also be discussed.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the impact of assisted reproductive technology (ART) on fetal and infant cardiac remodeling. The results showed that ART fetuses demonstrated cardiac alterations compared to spontaneously conceived controls, including globular enlarged left ventricle (LV), larger right ventricle (RV), and reduced LV systolic deformation. However, these alterations did not persist in early infancy. Furthermore, different ART procedures showed similar unfavorable changes in the fetal heart.

Summary: This study investigated the association between the use of dapagliflozin and cardiac biomarkers as well as cardiac structure in patients with heart failure and diabetes mellitus. The results showed that dapagliflozin was associated with a reduction in cardiac biomarkers and reverse cardiac remodeling, while there were no significant changes in the control group.

Summary: Our study reveals a critical role of microRNA-192-5p in mediating NOX-dependent DHFR deficiency and AAA formation, and inhibition of which effectively attenuates the development of AAA. Since the sequences of mouse and human microRNA-192-5p are identical, microRNA-192-5p inhibitors may offer a potential therapeutic option for AAA treatment.

Summary: This study investigates the possibility of obtaining individualised left anterior oblique (LAO) angle using preprocedural electrocardiographic parameters and its impact on the success rate of right ventricular (RV) lead implantation into the interventricular septum. The results show that the individualised LAO angle derived from the preoperative ECG ORS axis is a new useful and simple method for RV lead implantation into the interventricular septum, significantly improving the success rate.
