To better understand the agricultural resources and environmental problems of the provinces along The Belt and Road in China, it is critical to investigate their agricultural carbon emission efficiency and evolutionary trends. Based on the panel data of 18 key provinces and cities between 2006 and 2015, this paper evaluated the agricultural carbon emission efficiency with the data envelopment analysis-Malmquist model and further explored their dynamic evolutionary trends. There were several main findings. First, the efficiency levels of agricultural carbon emissions showed significant regional differentiation among the areas, with that along the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road being much higher than that along the Silk Road Economic Belt. Second, technical efficiency was the key factor that restricted the improvement of the comprehensive efficiency of agricultural carbon. Third, most provinces invested in too many redundant and unreasonably allocated resources, showing a trend of diminishing returns to scale. Last, According to dynamic evolution analysis, the total productivity still demonstrated a diminishing trend. This paper provides some suggestions for effectively improve the efficiency of agricultural carbon emissions in China, such as optimize the agricultural industrial structure, increasing the investment of carbon emission reduction technology, and implementing a carbon emission quota clearing system. This paper contributes to the improvement of the environment in China.

Effects of COVID-19 on Urban Population Flow in China

Xiaorong Jiang, Wei Wei, Shenglan Wang, Tao Zhang, Chengpeng Lu

Summary: This research used Baidu location-based service big data to study the population flow network in 368 cities in China during the epidemic. It was found that the scope of population flow is closely related to city administrative levels and traffic control policies, with the PFN showing a hierarchical structure dominated by urban hierarchy. The epidemic has a significant impact on the network topology, leading to a more centralized structure.

Comparison of Usage and Influencing Factors between Governmental Public Bicycles and Dockless Bicycles in Linfen City, China

Xiaojia Guo, Chengpeng Lu, Dongqi Sun, Yexin Gao, Bing Xue

Summary: This research compares the application of governmental public bicycles and dockless bicycles in China, focusing on cycling destination, frequency, and factors, using Linfen City as an example. The results show that dockless bicycles are more popular for entertainment while governmental public bicycles are preferred for commuting. There is no significant difference in cycling frequency between the two types, but governmental public bicycles have lower cost advantages while dockless bicycles are more convenient in the borrowing and returning process.

Public's Intention and Influencing Factors of Dockless Bike-Sharing in Central Urban Areas: A Case Study of Lanzhou City, China

Wei Ji, Chengpeng Lu, Jinhuang Mao, Yiping Liu, Muchen Hou, Xiaoli Pan

Summary: The study examined the factors influencing the public's behavioral intention of dockless bike-sharing (DBS) use based on the technology acceptance model (TAM) and the theory of planned behavior (TPB), finding that behavioral attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control are significant factors affecting DBS use intention. Behavioral attitude was found to have the most significant impact. Policy suggestions were proposed to address issues in the main district of Lanzhou, including establishing support systems for DBS, launching shared bikes for different user groups, and implementing a feedback platform for data analysis and solutions.

Spatial-Temporal Heterogeneity and the Related Influencing Factors of Tourism Efficiency in China

Zhiliang Liu, Chengpeng Lu, Jinhuang Mao, Dongqi Sun, Hengji Li, Chenyu Lu

Summary: The study measured the tourism efficiency of 30 provinces in China from 2006 to 2018 using the SBM model and Malmquist index, revealing a constant enhancement and increasingly balanced pattern in China's tourism efficiency. The utilization of input factors has been improving, with technological efficiency and progress promoting rapid growth in total-factor productivity. Different factors in different regions lead to spatial differentiation in tourism economic efficiency.

Spatial-Temporal Characteristics of Agricultural Greenhouse Gases Emissions of the Main Stream Area of the Yellow River Basin in Gansu, China

Lili Pu, Xingpeng Chen, Chengpeng Lu, Li Jiang, Binbin Ma, Xuedi Yang

Summary: The total agricultural greenhouse gas emissions in the main stream area of the Yellow River Basin's 15 counties (districts) increased by 55.54% from 2000 to 2019, with an average annual growth rate of 2.35%. The economic efficiency also saw significant improvement with an average annual decline of 6.49%. The emissions intensity of agricultural greenhouse gases showed a significant declining trend, while agricultural production efficiency was significantly improved.

Effects of Environmental Regulation on Green Total Factor Productivity: An Evidence from the Yellow River Basin, China

Jinhuang Mao, Qiong Wu, Meihong Zhu, Chengpeng Lu

Summary: Based on the data of 59 prefecture-level cities in the Yellow River Basin from 2011 to 2019, this paper uses the SBM-GML model to measure the green total factor productivity (GTFP) and analyze the impact of environmental regulation on GTFP in the basin. The results show that the basin has achieved green economic growth, driven by green technology progress. There are spatial differences in the distribution of GTFP and the intensity of environmental regulation in the upstream, middle, and downstream regions.
