Summary: This retrospective study compared the effectiveness of Er:YAG and CO2 laser therapies for treating female stress urinary incontinence (SUI). The results showed that both Er:YAG and CO2 laser therapies were effective, but Er:YAG laser was more effective in improving SUI symptoms, regardless of the number of sessions. Two sessions of laser therapy were more effective than one.

Summary: The aim of this study was to investigate the potential relationship between endogenous circulating testosterone and the onset and development of stress urinary incontinence (SUI) in postmenopausal women. The results showed that serum testosterone levels were significantly lower in women with SUI compared to healthy control women, even after controlling for various factors.

Summary: This study aimed to determine the prevalence and severity of urinary incontinence in postmenopausal women. The overall prevalence of urinary incontinence was 39.5%, with 20.6% having stress urinary incontinence, 10.4% having urgency urinary incontinence, and 8.5% having mixed urinary incontinence. Factors such as parity and age were found to be significantly associated with urinary incontinence.

Summary: The use of hormones for stress urinary incontinence (SUI) has declined due to safety concerns and lack of effectiveness. However, there is evidence suggesting a potential causal relationship between declining androgen levels in women and the increasing prevalence of SUI. Therefore, research should explore the use of vaginal androgens as adjunctive therapy for SUI, potentially in combination with vaginal estrogens.

Summary: Urinary incontinence and other lower urinary tract symptoms increase after menopause, affecting 38% to 55% of women over 60 years old. The aim of this clinical guide is to provide an evidence-based approach to managing urinary incontinence in postmenopausal women. Healthcare professionals should prioritize urinary incontinence, develop appropriate diagnostic skills, and consider a wide range of treatment options including lifestyle modifications, pelvic floor exercises, and pharmacological interventions.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the occurrence rates and risk factors of urgent urinary incontinence (UUI) and stress urinary incontinence (SUI) after robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP). The study found that the occurrence rate of SUI was consistently higher than that of UUI, and almost all patients with UUI also had SUI. The risk factors for UUI and SUI were different.

Summary: This study aimed to compare the efficacy of concomitant IU+IV non-ablative Er:YAG laser with IV application in improving symptoms of stress urinary incontinence (SUI) in women. The results showed significant improvement in SUI symptoms 3 months after both interventions, and this improvement was sustained until 12 months in both groups. Patients with initially severe symptoms showed greater improvement, and a higher proportion of patients with mild to moderate symptoms became completely symptom-free after treatment. The concomitant IU+IV Er:YAG laser treatment showed significant improvement in SUI symptoms compared to IV laser only, especially in the postmenopausal state.

Summary: In this study, a new alternative method based on particle swarm optimization is suggested to simultaneously estimate the (k, d) pair in Liu-type logistic estimator. An objective function is developed to eliminate the multicollinearity problem, minimize bias, and improve predictive performance of the model. Performance of the proposed method is demonstrated through Monte Carlo simulation study and real dataset analysis related to the collapse of commercial banks in Turkey during the Asian financial crisis.
