Summary: This study evaluated the suppressive effect of Wnt signaling inhibitor, Wnt-C59, in the kidneys, lungs, and livers of endotoxemic mice as a model of sepsis. Wnt-C59 improved survival rate, reduced proinflammatory cytokine levels and organ damage biomarkers, and inhibited Wnt/beta-catenin pathway, leading to suppression of NF-kappa B activity and cytokine upregulation in multiple organs, suggesting its potential use in treating sepsis-related multiple-organ dysfunction.

Summary: This study identified a small molecule, docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), with therapeutic potential for osteoarthritis (OA) treatment. DHA exhibited anti-inflammatory and chondroprotective effects in OA chondrocytes and promoted chondrogenesis in bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) impaired by IL-1 beta. The key mediator of DHA's effects was found to be Malat1. Additionally, DHA rescued cartilage loss and damage in a surgery-induced OA mice model. These findings suggest that DHA may be a potential drug candidate for OA patients with elevated MALAT1 expression levels.

Summary: Squalene can influence the immunity of grouper by activating the Wnt/β-Catenin signaling pathway, thus improving their antioxidant capacity and disease resistance. The activation of this pathway can inhibit the NF-κB-mediated inflammatory response, leading to improved immunity and disease resistance in grouper.

Summary: This study found that Suanzaoren Decoction (SZRD) can reverse depression-like behavior in rats, reduce inflammation, and increase the expression of BDNF, SYP, and PSD95. Further research revealed that SZRD exerts its antidepressant effect by regulating the TLR4/MyD88/NF kappa B pathway and Wnt/beta-catenin pathway in combination.

Summary: This study revealed the crucial role of GOLPH3 in the development and progression of acute liver and kidney injury induced by endotoxemia. Upregulation of GOLPH3 was associated with high morbidity and mortality. Knockdown of GOLPH3 alleviated cellular stress response and inflammatory reaction, leading to the recovery of Golgi morphology and function. These findings suggest GOLPH3 as a potential therapeutic target for endotoxemia-induced tissue injury.

Summary: This study demonstrates that LDH can stimulate osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs by targeting the LGR5/beta-catenin axis, as well as inhibit inflammation by inactivating IKK/NF-kappa B signaling. Furthermore, LDH can be utilized as a carrier for the osteoinductive miRNA let-7d to enhance bone regeneration, providing a novel strategy for future applications in regenerative medicine.

Summary: LvRap2a, a homolog of Rap2a from shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei, has been identified and shown to play a crucial role in shrimp growth. LvRap2a was found to be regulated by the Wnt signaling pathway and involved in the crosstalk between innate immunity and growth. These findings provide important insights and potential targets for promoting shrimp growth.

Summary: This study found that exposure to BPA exacerbates hypertension-induced pathological changes, including renal fibrosis, oxidative stress, elevated angiotensin-converting enzyme activity, dysfunction of antioxidant and tricarboxylic acid cycle enzymes, tissue lipid abnormalities, and expression of inflammatory factors. In addition, high levels of BPA have dose-dependent effects on kidney cells, including oxidative stress, mitochondrial dysfunction, and lipid peroxidation. Therefore, a precise investigation of BPA exposure in hypertensive populations is highly recommended during risk assessment.
