The global research on eligibility criteria is divided into four main aspects: natural language processing, patient pre-screening, standard evaluation, and clinical trial query. Future research will focus on improving artificial intelligence algorithms related to clinical trials and practical applications such as databases and knowledge graphs.

COPD: How can evidence from randomised controlled trials apply to patients treated in everyday clinical practice?

Summary: This study evaluated the applicability of evidence from large clinical trials to a local cohort of COPD outpatients. The results showed that only a small portion of the patients in the cohort were eligible to participate in the referred trials, even though the trials were designed to target significant patient populations. Therefore, there is a need to complement the efficacy evidence provided by large RCTs based on typical patients treated in routine clinical practice.

Summary: Participation in clinical trials for MDS patients is limited by strict inclusion and exclusion criteria, with the suggestion that criteria should be less restrictive to meet the needs of elderly MDS patients. The simulation study found that average eligibility for clinical trials was around 18% in the cohort, with karyotype, comorbidities, and prior therapies being the main reasons for exclusion. Pharmaceutical industry-initiated trials excluded more patients compared to investigator-initiated trials.

The study demonstrated the value of PRO-CTCAE in Phase I oncology trials, making AE reporting more patient-centered.

It is often associated with comorbidities such as psoriatic arthritis, metabolic syndrome, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, nephropathy, bowel disease, and brain diseases. Classifying psoriasis as cutaneous or systemic may help in better understanding and managing the disease.

External validity of phase III trials on vaccines against SARS-CoV-2 to a middle-aged and elderly Western European population

Sex Differences in the Patterns of Systemic Agent use Among Patients With Psoriasis: A Retrospective Cohort Study in Quebec, Canada

Bleeding Risk in Elderly Patients with Venous Thromboembolism Who Would Have Been Excluded from Anticoagulation Trials

Summary: In this study, the tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) were characterized in 20 cases of primary cutaneous B-cell lymphoma (PCBCL). It was found that TILs were sparsely intermingled within tumor infiltrate in aggressive PCBCL and were scattered around tumor nodule edges in indolent PCBCL. The abundance of proliferative TILs was associated with better progression-free survival in aggressive PCBCL.

Bone involvement in primary cutaneous diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, leg-type

Summary: We present a case series showing that bone involvement seems to be associated with poor prognosis in primary cutaneous diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, leg-type. Bone localization is not diagnosed with the initial recommended method of thoracic-abdominal-pelvic computed tomography when asymptomatic and affecting the limbs only. If this condition is suspected, patients should be investigated systematically with further imaging, including positron emission tomography, both at baseline and if there is any concern during follow-up.

Summary: This study investigated the treatment modifications and COVID-19 infection incidence among psoriasis patients in France during the COVID-19 pandemic. The results found that discontinuation or reduction of treatment was associated with a higher rate of disease flares, and the risk of COVID-19 infection was related to close contact with infected individuals and living in areas with a high incidence of COVID-19. Therefore, it is important to maintain and adapt patient-physician communication during crises to avoid unnecessary treatment interruptions and inform patients about the risk of infection and the importance of hygiene rules.
