Summary: The study found that there was no significant difference in relative risk ratios between the majority of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and observational studies, but significant variation existed in about 20% of comparisons, warranting further investigation into the sources of this variation and clarifying the contributing factors.

Summary: The study found that multiple intra-articular corticosteroid injections were no more effective than placebo for osteoarthritis pain relief. Some experiments suggested that such injections may worsen the structural progression of osteoarthritis. Further research is needed to assess the efficacy and safety of multiple intra-articular corticosteroid injections.

Summary: Through a systematic review of randomized controlled trials and observational studies, this study found that Chinese herbal medicine (CHM) treatment is effective and safe for mild/moderate COVID-19 patients. CHM treatment can reduce the conversion rate to severe cases and mortality, shorten the time to symptom resolution, length of hospital stay, and time to viral clearance, and increase the rate of nucleic acid conversion.

Summary: This study demonstrated that fumaric acid esters (FAE) showed superior treatment response compared to placebo in children and adolescents aged 10-17 with moderate-to-severe psoriasis after 20 weeks, with generally good tolerability. However, further studies are needed to confirm these findings.

Summary: This study systematically evaluated the clinical efficacy and safety of ERAS protocols for cesarean section, finding that ERAS significantly reduced length of hospital stay, incidence of postoperative complications, postoperative pain and opioid use, while potentially lowering hospital costs without compromising readmission rates. Further large, well-designed studies are needed to strengthen the evidence base.

Summary: Monkeypox vaccines generate adequate antibodies, but their effectiveness may decrease over time and exhibit varying safety profiles. Most studies consistently reported high levels of effectiveness against monkeypox. The number of vaccine doses administered affects immunogenicity, and smallpox vaccines provide cross-protection against monkeypox.

Summary: This study provides an updated systematic review on targeted therapies for nail psoriasis, incorporating recent trials and newer agents. The results reveal significant efficacy of targeted therapies, especially TNF-alpha inhibitors, IL-17 inhibitors, IL-12/23 inhibitors, and IL-23 inhibitors. The newer agents brodalumab, risankizumab, and tildrakizumab also show promising outcomes for nail psoriasis treatment based on current data.

Summary: This study investigated the associations between sex hormones and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and conducted a comprehensive systematic review and meta-analysis. The results showed that lower levels of sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG) were associated with NAFLD in both sexes, while the association between testosterone and NAFLD varied by sex. In addition, estradiol may have a protective effect against NAFLD in healthy men.

Summary: This study aims to summarize and analyze the evidence on the associations between coagulation factors and atrial fibrillation (AF) in both longitudinal and cross-sectional studies. The findings suggest that higher levels of coagulation factors are associated with both prevalent and incident AF, with the associations being more pronounced in cross-sectional studies. Limited evidence from longitudinal studies suggests a prothrombotic state underlying AF development.

Summary: This systematic literature review identified various definitions of psoriasis remission and cure. Most definitions used Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI) endpoints and descriptive endpoints related to 'skin clearance'. Few definitions specified time-frame, on/off treatment, or other psoriasis-related disease domains. While there is no cure, some studies used similar endpoints to define psoriasis cure. These findings will contribute to the development of consensus-based definitions for psoriasis remission.
