Summary: In recent years, transmission X-ray microscopes have become excellent tools for non-invasive characterization of nanoscale materials, but their spatial resolution has lagged behind modern nanostructures. Recent optomechanical breakthroughs have enabled fast 3D tomographic acquisitions with sub-10 nm resolution, narrowing the gap between X-ray and electron microscopy.

Summary: Goose liver oil microcapsules prepared with konjac glucomannan and soybean protein isolate exhibited high encapsulation efficiency and improved thermal and oxidative stability compared to free goose liver oil. The microcapsules showed a smooth spherical surface morphology and homogeneous internal structure. They also demonstrated good gastric juice permeability and controlled release in the intestinal region.

Summary: The degradation process of magnesium in physiological environments was studied using multi-scale imaging, revealing similar pore network morphology within the degradation layer for both solutions, but significant differences in degradation layer thickness and homogeneity. The overall degradation process seems to be influenced more by the presence of organic components, which suppress microgalvanic degradation, rather than by the nanoporosity of the degradation layer and ion diffusion processes.

Summary: This article reports the exploration of the chemical versatility of entropy-stabilized pyrochlores (A(2)B(2)O(7)) with large chemical disorder introduced on the B site. It also investigates the effects of isovalent and aliovalent substitution on the B site and Ca2+-doping on the A site. The study obtained 20 new compounds, including 8 entropy-stabilized ones, and screened their physical properties for potential applications.

Summary: Biominerals such as seashells, coral skeletons, bone, and tooth enamel have unique nanoscale and microscale organization, providing inspiration for engineers to design new biomimetic structures. The combination of X-ray linear dichroic ptychography and 4D STEM can be a valuable multimodal tool for studying nano-crystallites, interfaces, nucleation, and mineral growth in optically anisotropic materials at multiple length scales.

Summary: The physicochemical characteristics of particulate matter produced by PODE2-4/diesel blended fuel at different blend ratios were characterized. Increasing PODE2-4 concentration decreased PM size and increased fractal dimension. The addition of PODE2-4 affected the nanostructure and oxidation activity of PM, leading to faster oxidation rates.

Summary: The study aimed to trace imbibition fronts and paths in concrete using transmission microfocus X-ray radiographic tests, with CsCl enhancing X-ray attenuation. Results showed designed experiments enable acquisition of X-ray attenuation images with enhanced contrast, aiding in identifying capillary imbibition paths. Liquid was found to penetrate through the interfacial transition zone and highly porous cement paste more easily.

Summary: A paramagnetic material AgCoO2 with a p-type rhombohedral structure is stabilized as a pure phase under low oxygen pressure. Analysis reveals that Ag ions are in +1 oxidation state, while Co ions are mostly in +3 oxidation state, and the material undergoes a super-paramagnetic transition at low temperature.

Summary: This study aimed to compare the biochemical processes and mechanisms at the microaggregate scale for different land use types in the water source area of China's Middle Route of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project. The results showed that microaggregates from forests and shrublands had a flocculent spatial structure, while those from terraces had a nondirectional plate-like spatial structure, and those from cultivated land had a laminar spatial structure. The mineral composition and spatial structure of microaggregates are important determinants of soil biochemical processes and mechanisms.

Summary: This study investigated the decomposition process of the isothermal alpha '' phase in beta-Ti alloys, and found that the resulting alpha + beta dual phase inherited the microstructural characteristics of the alpha ''(iso) phase. The research results indicate the existence of a strict variant selection rule between the decomposed alpha and beta phases, with a specific variant combination observed.

Summary: This study examines the differences in electrochemical performance of V2O5 insertion electrodes with different crystal structures. The results show that the tunnel-structured V2O5 electrode has a simpler insertion mechanism and better battery performance compared to the layered V2O5 electrode, which undergoes a series of phase transformations and distortions, resulting in larger voltage hysteresis and capacity loss.

Summary: This study demonstrates the synthesis and characterization of graphene oxide-polyaniline-Ag (GO-PANI-Ag) nanocomposites as photothermal agents. The nanocomposites were prepared through in situ polymerization of graphene oxide, aniline, and Ag nanoparticles. The chemical and structural characteristics of the nanocomposites were investigated, and their photothermal properties in the NIR region were examined.

Summary: The touch-cure concept aims to achieve optimal polymerization of composite cement at the restoration-cement-tooth interface for immediate bond stabilization. Research shows that using an accelerator-containing tooth primer leads to the highest degree of conversion and interfacial bond strength. This method initiates polymerization at the interface, ensuring a strong and stable bond between the restoration and tooth.
