Summary: Bone marrow biopsies are commonly used for diagnosing and predicting hematological diseases. This study aimed to analyze the management of patients at high hemorrhagic risk, particularly thrombocytopenic patients, and those on antithrombotic drugs. Results showed that thrombocytopenic patients have a significant bleeding risk, and temporary cessation of anticoagulant treatment before biopsy does not increase the risk of thrombotic complications.

Summary: This study evaluated the safety and pharmacodynamics of SHR2285, the first oral coagulation factor XIa (FXIa) inhibitor developed in China, in combination with aspirin, clopidogrel or ticagrelor in healthy subjects. Results showed that SHR2285 was well tolerated, with no increased risk of bleeding, and effectively inhibited FXI activity and prolonged APTT when combined with these antiplatelet agents.

Summary: This study reviewed elderly patients admitted for low-level falls aged 65 and older, finding that the use of antithrombotic agents was common and associated with an increased rate of intracranial hemorrhage (ICH); anticoagulants were also associated with higher mortality rates.

Summary: Therapeutic anticoagulation is used to prevent or treat blood clots, but it can increase the risk of bleeding. Inhibitors of Factor XI (FXI) show promise in reducing the adverse events of anticoagulation. Large-scale phase 3 clinical trials are needed to confirm the role of FXI inhibitors and determine their clinical indications.

Summary: In children supported with extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, there is poor correlation between heparin dose and common laboratory measures of anticoagulation, and laboratory measures also correlate poorly with each other. Neither heparin dose nor laboratory measures are significantly associated with hemorrhage or thrombosis. Further research is needed to identify more effective measures of anticoagulation to reduce morbidity and mortality in patients on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation.

Summary: Warfarin is a complex drug with high potential for interactions with drugs, foods, and herbal medicines, especially with herbal medicines. Despite the lack of research on herb-warfarin interactions, clinical management of these interactions is known to be effective. Caution should be exercised when using these herbal medicines to manage potential risks.

Summary: The study investigated sTM levels and genetic variants in the THBD gene in MBD patients to determine their association with bleeding disorders, but no significant correlation was found. It was concluded that TM-associated coagulopathy is rare in MBD patients and sTM does not impact bleeding severity or haemostasis.

Summary: This study investigates the role of caspase-1-mediated inflammasome activation on extrinsic blood coagulation in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) after subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). The results demonstrate that inhibiting caspase-1 with VX-765 can attenuate neuroinflammation and blood coagulation, leading to improved neurological outcomes and memory capacity in SAH rats. These findings suggest that VX-765 may be a potential treatment for SAH-related neuroinflammatory and hemostatic disorders.

Summary: This study aimed to determine the impact of oral anticoagulants (OACs) plus antiplatelet agents (APA) on outcomes for patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) and carotid artery disease after ischemic stroke. The results suggest that receiving OACs without APA is associated with a lower risk of major bleeding and no negative impact on recurrent stroke or mortality in patients with AF and carotid artery disease. Evidence from randomized trials is needed to confirm this finding.
