Summary: miR-23b-3p is found to function as an oncogenic microRNA in HCC cell lines. Overexpression of miR-23b-3p in resected HCC tissues is a significant prognostic factor of overall survival. Both MICU3 and AUH may be candidate gene targets of miR-23b-3p.

Summary: This study identified hsa_circ_0098181 as a potential therapeutic target for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The downregulation of hsa_circ_0098181 was associated with poor prognosis in HCC patients. Hsa_circ_0098181 sponge miR-18a-3p to regulate PPARA, inhibiting the proliferation, invasion, migration, and colony formation of HCC cells.

Summary: circ_0003528 is overexpressed in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and knockdown of circ_0003528 suppresses tumor aggressiveness and growth. miR-212-3p functions through interaction with circ_0003528 and XIAP. Knockdown of circ_0003528 may be a potential therapeutic strategy for HCC treatment.

Summary: In this study, miR-4524-5p was found to downregulate the expression of MRP4, and circHIPK3 was shown to regulate MRP4 expression by sponging miR-124-3p and miR-4524-5p for the first time. These results may offer new insights into preventing MRP4-related proliferation and multiple drug resistance in HCC.

Summary: This study revealed that circRanGAP1 is upregulated in HCC cells and clinical tissues, and its increased levels are associated with enlarged tumors and advanced TNM stage. CircRanGAP1 promotes HCC progression through the miR-27b-3p/NRAS/ERK axis and regulates tumor-associated macrophage infiltration levels by sponging miR-27b-3p. The circRANGAP1/NRAS axis may be an important potential treatment target against HCC.

Summary: This study reveals that HCG11 is highly expressed in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) and is associated with tumor stage, lymphatic metastasis, and poor prognosis. Knockdown of HCG11 inhibits proliferation and migration and induces apoptosis in NPC cells. Mechanistically, HCG11 promotes NPC progression via the MAP3K9 signaling pathway by inhibiting miR-490-3p.

Summary: This study identified a novel circRNA, circUBAP2, in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) through bioinformatics analysis. CircUBAP2 was significantly upregulated in HCC tissues and correlated with aggressive clinical characteristics and poor prognosis. Functionally, circUBAP2 promoted cell proliferation, colony formation, migration, and invasion in vitro, and enhanced tumor growth and pulmonary metastasis in vivo. Mechanistically, circUBAP2 acted as a competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) for miR-194-3p, thereby regulating the expression of MMP9 and promoting HCC progression. CircUBAP2 could potentially serve as a prognostic biomarker and therapeutic target for HCC patients.

Summary: This study explores the biological roles of HCC cell-derived exosomes and exosome-transported circRNAs on HCC in vivo and in vitro. The findings reveal that circ_002136 is differentially upregulated in HCC tissues and cells and transferred by HCC cell-derived exosomes. Selective silencing of circ_002136 depletes the malignant biological behaviors of HCC exosome-activated cells. Depletion of circ_002136 in vivo effectively retards the growth of HCC xenograft tumors.

Summary: The study identified that a specific SNP of lncRNA H19 could impact the survival rate of HCC patients receiving TACE treatment, potentially through regulating H19 expression to affect treatment response. Additionally, knocking down lncRNA H19 can enhance the antiviability efficiency of chemotherapy drugs used in TACE on HCC cells.
