Summary: The objective of this study was to examine whether parents' adverse childhood events (ACEs) increase the child's risk of experiencing emotional neglect. The results showed that only the father's ACEs were associated with the child's emotional neglect score. This suggests that childhood adversities may be transferred from fathers to children, but larger samples are needed to confirm these findings.

Summary: Understanding the risks associated with opioid prescription in adolescents is crucial for informing opioid policy. Using a regression discontinuity design, a study found that adolescents just over age eighteen were more likely to be prescribed opioids and have adverse opioid-related events compared to those just under age eighteen. The results suggest that differences in care provided in pediatric versus adult care settings may play an important role in understanding prescribers' roles in the opioid epidemic.

Summary: This report presents the findings from a survey on the impact of COVID-19 on child and adolescent psychiatry services in Europe. While service delivery was significantly affected at the beginning of the pandemic, the second survey showed a minor impact on care delivery. However, there was a dramatic increase in the perceived impact on the mental health and psychopathology of children and adolescents. Suicidal crises, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, and major depressive episodes were particularly affected. There was a substantial increase in referrals or requests for assessments, and CAP department heads expressed concerns about the long-term consequences of the crisis.

Summary: The 2nd Webinar Neurodevelopmental Disorders (NDD) without boundaries was held in June 2022 at the Imagine Institute in Paris, discussing NDD in a dimensional approach. Various speakers presented their research on NDD classifications and psychiatric disorders. The continuum between NDD and adult psychiatric presentations was emphasized, which could impact therapeutic strategies and the development of new psychotherapies. The complexity and heterogeneity of NDD present challenges for future scientific and political efforts to expand knowledge boundaries.

Summary: The COVID-19 pandemic and lockdowns in France had a negative impact on mental health, especially in vulnerable subgroups. Monitoring psychotropic drugs consumption is a reliable tool for analyzing French people's mental health. A historical cohort study found an increase in weekly trend of psychotropic drugs users from 2019 to 2020, with the greatest increase in young people and patients not being socially deprived. The French drugs delivery system was able to adapt and maintain its capacity to deliver psychotropic treatments despite the increase in consumers and restrictive health measures during lockdowns.
