Summary: This study demonstrated the feasibility of rapidly assessing perfusion-diffusion mismatch in childhood AIS using automated software and identified some children with favorable mismatch profiles. The results suggest potential therapeutic benefit of RAPID use beyond the standard 4.5 hours window for thrombolysis. Further research is needed to determine the utility of perfusion-based imaging for guiding clinical decision making, whether adult thresholds need modification in childhood AIS, and the impact of time-delay and cause on mismatch characteristics.

Summary: Diffusion MRI encodes the diffusion of water molecules by using linearly varying gradient fields. However, when a quadratic gradient field is used, the diffusion in anisotropic media leads to changes in phase and preserves a large portion of the signal. This study confirmed the phase change in anisotropic fiber phantoms through simulations and MR experiments, which aligned with the predicted analytic model.

Summary: The study aimed to estimate the depth of myometrial invasion in endometrial cancer patients using a machine learning model, texture features, and parameters from preoperative MR images. The model showed the best performance in the test cohort with an accuracy of 86.1% and AUROC of 87.1%. Combining texture features and parameters improved the accuracy of preoperative estimation.

Summary: Magnetic resonance fingerprinting (MRF) arterial spin labeling (ASL) allows simultaneous estimation of cerebral blood flow (CBF), bolus arrival time (BAT), and tissue T-1 map, and may provide a new approach for quantitative hemodynamic and structural imaging in ischemic stroke, aiding in the detection of hemodynamic and structural damage, as well as in predicting neurological deficits and disability in patients.

Summary: The findings suggest that IVIM and ASL imaging can help differentiate parotid gland tumors, with significant differences in D, D*, f, and SIR values among different tumor types. Additionally, a positive correlation between SIR on ASL imaging and f was observed, indicating the potential of ASL imaging in discriminating between malignant tumors and Warthin's tumors.

Summary: The study investigated the performance of multi-parametric magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for glioma grading, and found that normalized relative cerebral blood flow (rCBV), mean kurtosis (MK), and water molecular diffusion heterogeneity index (alpha) were the most accurate parameters for assessing glioma grading. Multiparametric MRI can increase the accuracy of glioma grading.

Summary: This study found significant negative correlations between IVIM-derived diffusion dynamics parameters and initial neurological function as well as clinical outcome in patients with acute ischemic stroke, with rADC and rD significantly decreased in the poor outcome group. Therefore, IVIM may be suggested as an effective non-invasive method for evaluating acute ischemic stroke.

Summary: Molecular MRI can detect vascular inflammation after acute ischemic stroke, providing complementary information for treatment decision-making. In the study, it was found that VCAM-1 expression significantly increased at 6 hours post-recanalization and declined after 24 hours, but remained elevated in lesion borderzones.

Summary: The study aimed to investigate the role of DWI-based radiomics in predicting 1-year ischemic stroke recurrence. The results showed that the radiomics-based model provided better predictive performance, and the model that combined clinical and radiomic characteristics performed the best.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the role of ADC values and DCE-MRI parameters in distinguishing mesorectal tumor deposits from metastatic lymph nodes in rectal cancer. By comparing the differences in morphological features, ADC values, and DCE-MRI parameters, it was found that these parameters can help in identifying mesorectal tumor deposits and metastatic lymph nodes in advance.

Summary: The study evaluated the added value of DWI, qualitative proton MR spectroscopy (H-MRS), and dynamic contrast-enhanced perfusion (DCE-P) in differentiating benign and malignant non-fatty soft tissue tumors (NFSTT) compared to conventional MRI. The combination of advanced techniques, including DWI, H-MRS, and DCE-P, showed improved accuracy and specificity in identifying malignant tumors, leading to a decrease in the number of tumors deemed indeterminate after conventional MRI analysis.

Summary: This study verified the accuracy of multidelay arterial spin labeling (ASL) in evaluating the ischemic penumbra and perfusion levels in patients with acute ischemic stroke, compared with computed tomography perfusion (CTP). The results showed that multidelay ASL had consistency with CTP in terms of ischemic penumbra volume, and CBF corrected by arterial transit time (ATT) in multidelay ASL was more accurate.

Summary: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is an incurable neurodegenerative disease characterized by perturbed cerebral perfusion and metabolism, induced proinflammatory processes, and the aggregation of amyloid beta and hyperphosphorylated Tau proteins. Various imaging methods can detect subclinical AD changes, and new insights suggest a link between brain insulin resistance and AD pathogenesis. This article discusses the use of non-neuronal imaging modalities to assess AD-related structural changes in the liver and pancreas, which may be clinically important during the prodromal phase of the disease.
